"Present"
"Mom" a teenage girl yelled. There was a momentary silence and then again, louder this time "MOM!"
Heather had heard her daughter, but she didn't want to go see. She know they were fighting, and her husband wasn't home yet and she knew there was no way she could stop them once they started. She was hoping that if she stayed quiet enough they wouldn't find her hiding, but that lasted only about 5 minutes. Before she knew it the door was rammed open and followed by the screams of two voices.
"Mom I was calling you! Didn't you hear me?" exclaimed Aubree.
" Yes sweetheart, I heard you. What's wrong now?
" Well" she began, but was cut off short by a male voice. "Mom don't even listen to her it's all lies." said Andrew.
" Why don't you just shut up Andrew." said Aubree.
" Bite me."
" Okay." she responded with sarcasm in her voice, and she did. She actually bit him.
Heather knew she was going to have to eventually stop, but she was scared and she was sad. It reminds her so much of her and her brother. As soon as Aubree bit Andrew she jumped in between the two.
Heather yelled, " Now both of you stop that! Your little sister is finally asleep and I will be dammed if I will let this continue for another minute." They both stopped and looked at her. Their face twisted in shock and silence. Heather took a deep breath and began again " Listen I get it you argue. My brother and I use to fight all the time when we were younger, but as we grew up so did I relationship and soon he became my best friend. You two need to stop all this fighting and start loving each other, your twins for crying out loud enjoy it! You two are staring high school tomorrow. You need to be there for each other. Andrew you need to protect Aubree and Aubree you need to keep your brother in his place." She signed and looked at them once again. " Promise me."
They looked at each other and said " We promise."
"Good, now I want to tell you guys a story."
" Oh god mom we aren't five." says Andrew.
" For once I agree with you." Aubree said.
" Okay. listen here. Park your ass right there and listen because I'm about to tell you a little story."
And with that our story begins....
