A/N: Here's some background info about my new One Direction fan fiction. I know some of you have been waiting patiently for this, so thank you. The first chapter will be up at some point next week.

Meet The Characters

Zayn Javadd Malik

Background: He is prince of the Kingdom of Astadia, son of King Jahir. He is kind and compassionate compared to his father, this tends to create conflict between the two. Zayn is very popular with the ladies but he pays no attention because he feels he only catches their eye because of his Royal status. He seeks true friendship and the loyalty of his subjects. He is Head of the Calvary and the leader of the Knights; as he is prince.

Liam James Payne

Background:He is the Royal Family's public speaker and adviser. He is a close friend to Zayn, but his loyalties tend to shift heavier to the King. His friendship will be tested along the way...

Harry Edward Styles

Background: He is Zayn's right hand and his most loyal Knight. Zayn named him the commissioned officer; this means he assists the Prince with commands and becomes the leader of the Knights if the Prince is unavailable. Harry's strengths and weaknesses will be put to the test along the journey.

Louis William Tomlinson

Background: He is the army's lieutenant and one of the Royal Knights. He is the second in command, in the army he is positioned below Harry. If Harry were not available or injured, he would take command of the army. He is loyal to his Kingdom above else, which means he is not afraid of breaking the law when he thinks its unjust and wrong.

Niall James Horan

Background: One of Astadia's Royal Knights. He is the most optimistic of the Knights. He loves life, drinking and having a good time; but takes his position in the Royal Guard very seriously. Sometimes the least expected, can create the bigger change. Niall's fate is definitely something to look forward too.

Estefania Perdomo

Background: Princess of the fallen Kingdom of Nydith. When her Kingdom was under attack, her father sent her to the ally Kingdom of Astadia, where she was sheltered by King Jahir in the name of friendship. Unfortunately her father died during the assault along with his whole Kingdom and now Princess Estefania lives permanently with the Royal family of Maliks.

Luna Catmael

Background: Luna is Princess Estefania's personal servant, but there is definitely more than meets the eye; she guards a big secret that only her mistress and herself know.

Aurora Blesa

Background: Aurora is a faraway cousin of Prince Zayn. She lost both of her parents during her childhood and now lives with the royal family who are the only family she's known her whole life. For good or for bad, her fate will be intertwined closely with those of the Royal Family.

King Jahir Malik

Background: He is King of the Kingdom of Astadia. He is also Zayn's stubborn and strict father. He has a reputation of being fearless and unforgiving, traits that he himself feels are the only way to protect his Kingdom.
