Somewhere in a room, two friends are sharing their old memories
~" Still reading a boring book, Jazz? "
" Shut up, already."
"I'm not. Why aren't you enjoying your childhood like the other girls?"
The dark-haired, pale kid standing there with his ball, was looking at me straight in the eyes, waiting for an answer.
" You mean playing with my mom's makeup, stealing her heels when she doesn't look and always talking about boys? No thanks Joe, I prefer reading."
My attention returned back to my book.
" Hey Joe!" Another random kid came running to him " let's play some soc..Oh you're still talking with that weirdo again?"
" She's not weird. She's smart and she's my friend. Say that about her again and I will-"
Joe couldn't finish his sentence, I just throw away my book, stood up and calmly sent my fist onto the guy's face.
He stayed there for a moment, not really understanding what just happened, then proceeded to run away, full of shame and tears coming out his eyes.~" Come on, I didn't even beat him that hard." I said innocently
" are you kidding? You literally deformed his face..I didn't even know you had that much power for the thin little girl you were!"
" You said exactly the same thing 10 years ago.."
He glanced at me for a moment and then laughed his heart out. I did the same.
" Good old times." He added in a melancholic way.
" What do you mean? Nothing really changed. I'm Still a loner and you're Still a player."
" I'm not! " he tried to defend himself
" and this girl you once dated because of a game?"
" It doesn't count. I was young and stupid."
" that's what I said.Nothing changed." I laughed.
He lightened a cigarette and blew the smoke right in my direction.Cunt.I grabbed some popcorn and pulled up the cover to my chest while hugging him.
I loved a lot those windy, grey weekends I would spend with Joe watching some western or stupid love-story movies.
I knew him since primary school and he was the only real friend I ever had..Well, let's be honest. The only one.
