Make Time, Make Space

Chapter One

Dave leaned in for a kiss, his lips puckered in what he believed was an oh-so-sexy way, only to find himself get smacked across the face by his girlfriend.

This was a good start to their date.

He leaned back, rubbing the sore spot on his cheek, and gave Jade his best puppy-dog eyes. "What'd you do that for? I thought you knew what I meant when I said I wanted to 'Netflix and Chill'."

"Um, I thought you meant you wanted to watch Netflix and... chill. Not get all kissy in the first two minutes! Why do you think I wore my sweatpants?" Jade teased, a slight smile pulling at the corner of her lips.

"Because you know I'll find you gorgeous whatever you wear?" He answered. Was that the right thing to say? Dave sure hoped so.

"That's flattering, but it won't get you laid. We can just watch this documentary on space instead." She smiled widely at him. "You may have only one thing on your mind, but I do appreciate you remembering I'm a total geek about space."

"Are you kidding? I love that you're a geek- everyone knows geeks have a natural alluring charm to them."

"Mmm." She muttered, nodding her head. "Is that why people are just falling all over John? Cause he's the biggest geek we know."

"It's only girl geeks." Dave said warmly, pushing aside Jade's hair to kiss her on the ear. "Those boy geeks just don't rake in guys like girls."

She laughed, pushing his lips away from her head. "That tickles!"

"On second though..." Dave whispered, leaning in to kiss her ear again. "Maybe it's just you with the alluring charm. That would explain why I'm incapable of resisting you as we watch this... space... documentary."

Jade's eyes gleamed as she gave Dave a long look. "If you're trying to seduce me..."

"Oh, don't worry, I-"

She held up a hand to cut him off. "I was going to say before you so rudely interrupted... If you're trying to seduce me, you're doing an excellent job. Boys are just a lot sexier than space."

"Does this mean I can kiss you now?"

"Please do." Jade answered with a wink.
