ONE
I cringe at the filthy sight of teenagers rubbing their bodies against each other. Then shudder at the sight of a couple having a full on makeout session at the corner of the room like no one's going to see them if they get naked - which I pray to god they don't. I bring the cold can to my lips, taking a sip from my third beer can tonight.
"You're the kind of person I could see myself surviving a zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, and end of the world with." Stephanie, my best friend, slur beside me on the couch with her hand poking my cheek. I stare at her weirdly and she responds with a chuckle.
"Stephanie... are you drunk?"
My question cause her to giggle like a lovestruck girl with a secret. "I'm hungry! And I hate everyone... except you." She bat her eyelashes at me. I chuckle softly at her. Is it wrong to like the drunk version of her better than her normal self?
"If someone breaks your heart, I'll punch him in the face and we'll go for ice cream." She slur slowly then her head drop on my shoulder causing me to laugh. I wonder if I sound like this when I'm drunk.
"Okay there tough tiger. I need to get you home before you get more drunk than this." I put down my beer can on the floor and pick Stephanie up while supporting her at the same time so she won't fall on the floor and get people's attention.
When she's balance, I let go of her arm and turn back slightly to grab her bag and cardigan.
"Okay Stephanie, let's-" I mouth drop when Stephanie is nowhere in sight. Great! My drunk bestfriend is somewhere loose in this enormous house.
"Stephanie!" I call out hoping she would reponds but no answer. Sighing, I begin to walk towards the kitchen. She did say she was hungry. A familiar feeling make it's way to my stomach and I stop. Oh no.
I immediately run to the hall where the bathroom is. Opening the door, I rush in only to see a guy with his shirt halfway up. My eyes instantly stare at his torso to see that half of it is covered in bruises. Geez, wonder who he pissed off. He notice me looking and quickly bring his shirt down then walk towards me, blocking my way to the toilet.
"Ever heard of knocking?" He asked harshly. I keep quiet, trying to keep my mouth close and avoiding his gaze.
"Do you know how to speak?"
"I-" I start but close my mouth again, afraid that I might barf all over him.
"You what?" Nope, I can't keep it in anymore. I open my mouth and within seconds, there was vomit all over the floor including a nice pair of white vans belonging to a very pissed off boy glaring at me.
I gasp at the sight of what I had caused. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean too." But it felt good. That's what you get for talking to me harshly. He open his mouth to say something but then close it again, shock at what had just happened.
"I'll go now. Bye." I quickly say and turn to get out before he say something. I open the door and walk out.
"This party sucks." I hear a voice coming near. I instantly recognize it Aiden's.
"Oh shit." I mutter under my breath and quickly open the bathroom door to go back inside. Once I'm inside, I close the door and turn around to meet the boy's glare. I grin sheepishly back at him, hoping he won't kick me out. If Aiden finds out that I'm here, he'll kill me. He specifically told me not to go to any party ever even thought I've snuck out a couple of times to parties. But he doesn't have to know. It's not like he's my dad. He's only my brother. He can't tell me what to do and what not to do.
"What? You haven't finish barfing all over me yet?" The boy ask with a sour face. I roll my eyes at him, making sure he sees it too.
"Don't get your panties in a twist, sourpuss." I reply back and notice that he's cleaning his shoes with toilet paper from my vomit. I walk over my pile of vomit and towards sourpuss. I like that name, sourpuss. It match him perfectly.
"Duke of Puke." He retorts, clearly not satisfy with the nickname I gave him. I narrow my eyes at him at the ridiculous name.
"Twat."
"Vomit comet."
"Asshat."
"Barf bag."
"You-" I groan angrily at him and give up, not knowing what colorful word to say next. He smile victoriously and goes back to cleaning his shoes. At least I ruined his shoes. There's no way he can save those shoes and get rid of the smell. Talking about smell, god damn it smells in here. I need to get out of here and take Stephanie home without getting caught by Aiden.
"So what's your name?" He suddenly asked, catching me off guard.
"You don't need to know." I smile and walk to the door. Making sure Aiden's nowhere in sight, I get out of the bathroom and quickly run to find Stephanie. I head over to the kitchen and sigh in relief when I see Stephanie eating some chips on the counter.
"I found these strange looking food!" She scream at me happily causing me to laugh at her behavior.
"It's call chips. Now let's go home." I held onto her securely, making sure she can't escape this time and head out of the house to where her brother park his car. After putting her inside the car, I call her brother so he can take us home.

"What were you doing out this late?"
"It's only 10!" I protest to my overprotective dad. I bet Aiden and Skye aren't even home yet.
"There are dangerous people out there, Avani. Especially if they know that you're my daughter." He look at me with concern.
I sigh, tired of the same old speech I hear all the time. "I know, dad. I'm sorry. It's just that today's Stephanie's last day at Lady Grace's Academy and I wanted to spend more time with her." I explain.
My family is different from other families - that's something I've learned since I was ten years old. My father is an ex-mafia and no matter how much I hate it, I grew up with it and had come to terms with it. It was a family business and there's no escaping it. At least my dad is not a killer. Being a mafia doesn't mean you have to kill to survive. My father had a strict rule and that is no killing anyone or anything. Since my father used to be the leader, he has a lot of enemies and he always worries that someone will harm me or my brothers. So he's always telling us to be careful and protect us the best way he can even if it meant enrolling me in an all girls school.
Yeah, I've been in an all girl school ever since I discovered boys while all my brothers went to a regular school.
An idea cross my mind, "You know, Stephanie's going to Western Bridge High." I hint at my dad.
"I wouldn't have to sneak out to spend time with her if you just enroll me to Western Bridge High too." I sugarcoat. I watch as he scrunched his eyebrows together in deep thought.
"Umm.. Let me think about it... how about no." He responds causing my smile to turn into a frown.
"Why not? Aiden and Skye goes to Western Bridge High too. Kai went to a regular high school. Why can't I go?" I knew the answer to the question: because you're a girl. I hate being the only girl and the youngest child. I have three older brothers but no sisters. They're always thinking that I need protection. I hate it.
"Avani-"
"No! I want to go to Western Bridge High. If I can't go, I won't come out of my room and I'll starve to dead." I threaten my father. Being the only girl is bad but it also has it's advantages. They can't ever say no to me when I put on a fight.
Sighing, he reply, "Fine. I'll think about it." A wide smile make its way to my face. 'I'll think about it' always mean he's definitely agreeing to letting me go.
