Raven didn't know what to think. She had a chance to forget everything. A chance to be free of Trigon and her destiny, but... what about her friends? She didn't want to live without them. Then again, if she went through with this, she wouldn't remember them at all. She'd have no powers. She could save everyone. She shouldn't be selfish. She was the only way Trigon could get to Earth. This is for the best, yet...
Don't think of him, Raven. This is something you have to do.
But he'll be so hurt when he realizes I'm gone.
But this will save him.
With sudden clarity, Raven picked up her spellbook and went to the door. Her friends were heading to their rooms after a long video game tournament that Cyborg apparently won. "Don't get too cocky, Cy, I'm a beast that's been unleashed," Beastboy laughed goodnaturedly. "That was a pleasant game of chasing of cars" Starfire cheerily said. "I whipped all yall butts," Cyborg grinned smugly. Robin was laughing along with them, then he noticed Raven watching them with an unexplainable look on her face.
"Hi, Raven. You going to sleep soon?" her leader asked stopping at her door.
Raven nodded and thought for a moment. She stepped out and suddenly hugged Robin. "I just wanted to thank you for everything, Robin. You don't know it, but you saved me in more ways than one." And made me have feelings I never thought I could've for another and that's why I'm doing this... for you.
"As you did for me, Raven, but... what brought all this on?"
Raven didn't speak.
Robin hugged her back tightly, feeling afraid of what would happen if he let go.Finally, she released him and Robin reluctantly did too. "I don't think I properly thanked you before... Richard," Raven smiled weakly.
"You don't need to thank me, Raven. I just wish for your and our friends safety," Robin replied, feeling a bit on edge from the strange way Raven was acting, almost as if she were saying goodbye.
"As do I," she seemed to sadden at his words. Turning around with one last look over her shoulder, she barely choked out the words, "Goodnight, Robin." It came out in a whisper.
"Goodnight, Raven."
Her door slid closed. Robin stood there swallowing his words.
Robin had wanted to say...
I love you.
