«Four Years Later»
I can't believe it.
Today I am turning eighteen!
I can't believe it!
As soon as I woke up I took a shower and got dressed in a turquoise tank top with a grey flannel over it and pared it with some dark-washed skinny jeans and some dirty brown combat boots. My hair had grown rather long in the last four years, considering my hair was barely past my shoulders at the time at the park. Heck it was now longer than Exon's, which is weird since she's always had really long hair but she decided to get it cut up to her shoulders, about two years ago and now she's growing it back out. She looks good, but I liked the long hair more. Zach seemed to like it both ways, so I guess she could do whatever with it.
I curled my hair a little, since I was ways horrible at curling my hair, and then grabbed my dark brown jacket and my phone as I headed downstairs. I was supposed to be meeting up with Gray and his girlfriend today since I had basically no other friends who could remember my birthday.
Now Gray's girlfriend, Zoe, was my only female friend basically. As soon as he introduced her to me last year, we hit it off and became friends instantly. I've been there for the both of them whenever they had a fight with each other or with their families, and they the same for me. Us three were inseparable. Zoe had black hair, mahogany colored eyes, fair skin, and she was taller than me, since I've stayed in my 5'5" height range ever since I was fifteen (Shortness suck, by the way), so she reached about 5'10". Gray himself is only 5'11", so I'm incredibly short compared to them.
I snatched my car keys from the table next to the door and walked outside, heading to my car. Dad was at work and Exon and Luke were both in college so I was home alone right now. I hopped in Exon's hand-me-down car and drove over to Gray's house, since I was supposed to swing by and pick him up, and they we'd pick up Zoe and go hang out at the park. When I got there, I pulled into the driveway and honked once. After a while, Gray walked outside and slowly came to my car. He always took so freaking long to get there just to annoy me.
I was about to yell at him, but then I saw his face. He had no emotion showing on his face. Not his usual smile he always flashed me, or even a bored expression whenever he was in his moods. Something was wrong. Once he got in and buckled up, he didn't say anything to me. I decided to wait until we were at least out the driveway before asking.
"Why so blank?" I asked him, earning a glance from him before he looked back out the window. "Graaaaay." I whined, which made him sigh slightly.
"Nothing." He said. I raised an eyebrow at him, and gave him a dead panned look.
"You know you're a really horrible liar, Gray. Tell me." I said. He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against the window.
"Bad night, and morning with Zoe.." he said, making me look over at him. I saw a parking lot ahead, so I turned into it and parked the car. Once I did, I looked over at him, while he looked confused but not surprised.
"Talk. Now." I demanded. He sighed again before speaking.
"I think we might be breaking up.." he said, causing me to gasp slightly.
"What happened? Just yesterday you two were completely fine."
"That was yesterday. Last night and this morning we've been fighting. This is the worst one we've ever had, Paige, and I don't think we can come back from it..In fact, I'm pretty sure we have broken up.." He said, looking down at his lap while his arms crossed over his chest.
"What were you fighting about?" I asked, making him close his eyes suddenly and look away from me. He was silent for a moment, then spoke.
"She keeps accusing me of cheating on her.." He said quietly. My eyes widened slightly, shocked.
