Team Natsu + Juvia's mission

4. Finally

After lunch, we went to the forest's entrance. Jellal, Meredy and Ultear were already there. After everyone said hi, Jellal said:
- So, what do you know about this job?
- Erza didn't tell you? - asked Natsu
- I think they were busy talking about something else - said Meredy, smirking. Lucy chuckled.
- We agreed to come here to share information with both groups, so everyone knows all the information we have. - I said.
- We know they stole a really expensive necklace and earrings, and they're probably hiding in the haunted cave, but that's all we know. - said Gray
- We know they're the Dark Guild Blue Skull, they've been giving us a lot of trouble, and they're hiding in that cave.
- Wait, wasn't Blue Skull the name of a guild that was in Magnolia before Fairy Tail was founded? I think I read about it - said Lucy.
- Sometimes, new Dark Guilds take the names of older ones that had a reputation, to try to be a little more feared - said Ultear.
- We know where they're hiding, so we should probably check that place to make some strategy. Just check, not fight them, okay, Natsu? - said Jellal.
- Fine.
We walked there, Jellal leading the way. I was by his side, and the rest were behind us. I noticed Meredy and Lucy were whispering and laughing a little, and it was obvious they were talking about me and Jellal. I hoped no one saw me blush, and I walked more slowly so I was walking by Ultear, Juvia and Gray's side. That didn't stop Meredy and Lucy, and Natsu tried to join the conversation. I was convincing myself that they weren't talking about me when Jellal turned back and whispered:
- We're here.
Everyone stopped talking and tried to get a place to look. The cave was really big, and the was a fire pit on the outside. We heard voices inside.
- What kind of strategy could we make? - asked Meredy.
- We should just go in and take 'em down - said Natsu
- For the first time, I agree with Natsu - said Gray.
- That would be suicide! It's a pretty big guild, you know? - said Jellal
- We can take 'me down. - Natsu insisted
- You're insane - said Lucy.
- No, he's not. We did much crazier things - I said. - Besides, we're powerful, right?
- Not powerful enough to take down a whole guild. - said Jellal
- We already did that once. And besides, weren't you a Wizard Saint? - I said.
- That must have hurt, being destroyed like that by your own girlfriend - said Gray.
Jellal didn't answer. I looked away to the cave.
- Let's go. - I ordered.
We walked in. Before the bandits noticed (because they were really drunk), Natsu, Gray and Juvia had either frozen them or burned them. Meredy and Ultear attacked to, launching their Maguilty Rays and Luminous Minutes. Lucy called Virgo, I requipped into my Sea Empress Armor and Jellal launched his Altairis. In 20 minutes we were done with all of them, it was really anticlimactic. Lucy picked up the necklace and Juvia picked up the earrings, and we left. While we were walking through the woods, Jellal asked me:
- Can we talk alone?
- Guys, can you go take the necklace and earrings back and get the money? I'll be with you in a moment, but we kind of need some time alone here.
- Sure - said Lucy, and pulled everyone away, even Natsu who obviously wanted to spy on us. I looked at Jellal.
- So? What did you want to say? - I asked.
- I'm sorry. I lied to you.
- Which time? - I asked, smiling, but it wasn't a joke.
- About the fiancée. I don't have one.
- I noticed that, but I don't know why you lied to me.
- Truth is, I panicked. I don't really know why I did it, I just said the first thing that came to mind.
- So you didn't have to kiss me?
- That's not it, I just got, uh, surprised by how fast things were going, and I didn't respond very well to the situation.
- You had seven years! How do you mean it was going too fast?
- I thought maybe it was going too fast for you, I mean, you had a few weeks at most.

- You'll make up for it. You're going to be my boyfriend. - I said. He smiled.
- Of course - he said - That's not something bad at all. I love you, it's only fair that we become a couple if you love me back.
- I do - I reassured him, and kissed him. This time he didn't stop me, and he didn't lie. And I lost myself in that moment, wishing I could live there forever. But we run out of breath.
