The bitter Winter wind howled threateningly, as you stood in front of the grand entrance of Ciel Phantomhive's foreboding manor. Your best friend Bethan had invited you to one of the young Earl's famous balls, and, reluctantly, you had accepted the offer.
"Why did I agree to this again?" You questioned yourself, as you hesitantly pushed open the surprisingly heavy doors. The sound of laughter, chattering, and general happiness hit you the moment that you entered the elaborate mansion. You slowly closed the doors, and hastily made your way to the room in which the ball was actually taking place. You were late, which was nothing unusual for you. For some unknown reason, it always seemed to take far longer than necessary to get ready for occasions like this.
"Oh well. They can't have missed me too much." You muttered, following the sounds of the many other guests.
Admittedly, it did take you a while to find the ballroom, but that was not surprising, considering how many rooms the mansion had. You stopped abruptly in front of the double doors, and in doing so somehow managed to trip over your long, flamboyant dress, stumbling into the room full of people!
"Oh, great!" You stated sarcastically, as you noticed that the whole room HAPPENED to be staring at you, making it obvious that they had seen you make your 'grand entrance'.
"_____!" Bethan shouted, rushing towards you, threatening to embrace you in a friendly hug. As soon as she reached you, the rest of the guests continued with whatever they had been doing before you had entered the ballroom.
"Why are you so late? The ball started half an hour ago!" Bethan pouted, clearly unimpressed.
"I really am sorry! I got... lost." You admitted, blushing slightly. Bethan opened her mouth, about to remark at your confession, when she was interrupted by a tall man with dark black hair, and crimson red eyes. He was dressed in a butler's attire, and a smirk spread across his handsome face as he noticed the unnatural amount of attention that you were giving him.
"Excuse me, Miss ____, but my master, the young Earl, wishes to be introduced to you." He looked at Bethan, clearly amused by the glare that she was giving him.
"Of course..." You replied, slightly surprised.
"Fine. _____, I have to prepare for... something." Bethan averted her gaze towards the back of the room, and you turned to see what she was looking at, but all you could see were a few people, some doors and... a closet? What was that doing there?
"My lady?" The butler brought you back to your senses, and you gave him an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, I get distracted easily!" The butler tilted his head slightly and smiled.
"Yes, I can tell." He extended a gloved hand towards you, and you placed your hand upon his gently, as he led you towards the other side of the room. Whilst the two of you were busy maneuvering through the crowd of people, you could not help noticing some of the other guests. Not in a creepy way, you were just a very curious person! Your eyes fell upon a man with long, red hair. He also wore red glasses, a red coat, and, hold on... was that... a chainsaw in his hands? You shivered slightly, then the butler stopped. Before you stood a young boy, with an eye-patch placed across his right eye. He had dark blue hair, and deep blue eyes. You could tell that he was a noble by the way that he dressed...
"Thank you Sebastian, you may leave us now." The young boy stated, with a hint of annoyance detectable in his voice.
"As you wish, my Lord." The boy's butler, Sebastian, replied, bowing slightly, before giving you a small smile, and then disappearing into another room, perhaps to prepare some more drinks.
"Ciel Phantomhive, I presume?" You asked him, rather timidly.
"Yes, and you must be _____? " You nodded politely, as the young Earl observed your elegant attire.
"Well, well, well... The young Earl has made a new friend, isn't that nice? He he he..." You gasped, as you felt an icy hand rest upon your shoulder. Standing rather closely next to you was a man with long, silvery hair. You could not see his eyes, as they were covered by his bangs, and a long, thin scar was visible, leading from his left eye, down towards his right cheek. He wore a black robe that was clearly too big for him, with a grey piece of material which was draped across his shoulders, and tied in a knot resting on his waist. There was something about his eerie smile that made you feel strangely uncomfortable...
"Undertaker... I did not expect to see you here." Ciel sighed, staring at the man with a mildly concerned expression. The Undertaker removed his bony hand from your shoulder, and started to shake as a result of his sudden laughter...
"HA HA HA! YOUR FACE! SO SERIOUS!" He continued to howl with uncontrollable laughter, and you could not understand why. Yes, Ciel's stern expression was slightly amusing, but you did not find it THAT funny.
"Oh my, young Earl, you really do know how to make me laugh. Now, where is that HILARIOUS butler of yours?" Undertaker was still trembling slightly, whilst Ciel directed him towards one of the many doors on the other side of the room. When he was gone, Ciel turned his attention back to you.
"Please, forgive me, Undertaker requires a certain level of patience to deal with him. Anyway, I must see to my other guests now."
"Of course..." You paused for a moment, unsure of how to address him.
"You may call me Lord Phantomhive." Ciel responded, realizing your uncertainty, before leaving you standing rather awkwardly, surrounded by people whom you did not know. Suddenly, you heard Bethan's voice approaching you again.
"_____! There you are! Everything is ready!" You tilted your head slightly, wondering what she meant and why she was holding a bright red bag, seemingly full of several mysterious items.
"Ready for what?" You asked her, and she replied, by yelling as loudly as she could.
"Seven Minutes In Heaven!" The guests cheered, and gathered around Bethan. She smirked at you, and grabbed your wrist as you tried to escape.
"Not so fast, _____! You're up first!" A look of terror spread across your already worried face.
"This is going to be... interesting..." You muttered, everyone waiting for you to choose an item...
