Dez's POV
"Nines look at her neck, this isn't her being dead," I yell across the apartment as Nines runs around in a panic. He is instantly at my side.
"No, no, no. This is so bad. That f***er did it didn't he?" He asked, already knowing the answer. Damsel runs outside to search for Jason and I cradle Nat in my arms.
"Hey, Nat. It's okay my darling. Come on wake up for me okay. Everything is okay and we are here to help you. I will tell you everything if you come to for me babe," I whisper quietly. Nines is still panicking, but soon stops and sits next to us while I continue to stay calm. Damsel comes in quietly and shakes her head, indicating Jason was nowhere near here. We all remain quiet and wait for the inevitable.
Nat's hand moves and we all gasps waiting to see what happens next. I know this is only the beginning and as I see her deep red eyes start to open, I start mentally preparing for the fight that will come next.
Nat's Pov
Everything is black and cold.. I can hear voices, so many voices. I don't know any of them but they tell me things, lots of things, things I didn't know or things I could never imagine. But I recognize one voice "hey, Nat. It's okay my darling. Come on wake up for me okay. Everything is okay and we are here to help you. I will tell you everything if you come to for me babe," Dez! She's here she still cares for me despite what I said.. wow. I have to wake up and tell her I'm sorry for what I said, "Nat, please wake up. I've spent so long looking for you, if you leave me now.. I cant even stomach the thought." oh Nines.. I cant leave him, no I am going to wake up and when I do I am going to tell him how I feel.
I slowly open my crimson eye and smile, as I see the same icy blue eyes of my best friend. "hey" I say my voice straining "I'm glade your here" she smile and laughs with tears in her eyes
"of course I am Nat. Your my sister" she looks over at the door "look who else is here" I fallow her line of sight and see Nines standing their, his eyes are red (was he crying?) he smiles "hey kitten" he whispers. As soon as he walks into the room I start to hear voices in my head, gasping I hold my head in my hands and close my eyes "no.. what is this.. what are they saying?!"
"Nat.." one of them says, but I don't know who I cant concentrate
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" I yell as tears start to form in the corner of my eyes.
"Natalie.." one of the voices say trying to get me to listen "she cant hear me, Nines what do we do?"
"I got an idea"
"stop.. please, just stop!" I beg
"Nat" a soft voice whispers, I cant focus on it the voices in my head are to loud.
"Natalie.. come on kitten look at me"
"Nines?" I ask my voice horse
he nods "yea its me Nat, its okay" he slowly places his hands on my cheeks and tilts my head up, our eyes meet, instantly the voices are gone, all I hear is him.
"what's wrong with me?" I ask crying again
"nothing kitten its just..." he sighs and runs his hand through his hair
"your the same as us now Nat" Dez says looking at me with regret
"what? I don't.." oh I get it "you mean I'm a.."
"vampire, yea" Nines sighs "that asshole Jason gave you to the embrace"
"the what?"
"turned you"
"well why didn't you just say that?" I ask not caring if I sound sassy.
Dez smiles and shakes her head "good to know your still the same" her smile disappears "do you want to take her or should I?"
"I'll do it" he says getting up "and I can fill her in on the 'rules' you and Damsel should get home before morning" she nods, gives me a hug "I love you Nat, I will talk to you tomorrow night" before I can say anything she's gone. Nines looks at me and smiles "come on" he says offering me his hand
I take it "where are we going?"
"to feed" I tilt my head to the side "trust me, you will need it. Then after that I can tell you about 'my' world" he smiles.
and just like that my life of a human was gone and my life as a vampire began, the voices tell me change is coming. Who will bring it and how I don't know, but what I do know is as long as I have my friends and Nines I don't care what happens.
