In her first grade class, she met a boy, Jake, and they became best friends. You could never tear them apart. He helped with her coping with everything, and stood up for her on many occasions. Jake was beginning to rub off on Jem. She saw another kid, Henry, being bullied like her. She walked up to the bully and said "STOP IT." He did, but Henry was still teased because he had a girl stand up for him. The bully moved schools because his dad moved away for a job two years ago, so he and his mom and brother moved to his dad's house so they could support each other. Jake, Henry, and Jem all became great friends.
