Niall's POV

There was rapid pounding at the door, someone was fierce and really needed our attention today, apparently. All of the boys were in my flat, and since it's mine, I opened it, praying it wasn't a fan of some sort.

A beautiful blonde haired girl with blue eyes looked at me, her nose piercing glimmering. Her hair was to her waist, she was wearing leather jeans, a red tee, red converse, and had a leather jacket and a helmet in her hand. I'd know her from anywhere. It's Carter, my next door neighbor. Her flat's next to mine. Which is kind of weird, considering this is the floor where all of us boys live.

"Hey Carter! How's it hangin'?" I said casually. She wasn't a fan, but not really a friend either. I've seen her a couple of times in and out, and we introduced ourselves to each other a while back.

"Not so good, actually. But I need you to do me a favor." She asked with pleading eyes. I've had a tiny crush on her for a while now, but nothing major. But her eyes were so adorable just then, I think I fell a bit more.

"And what would that be? We never really- urm, talk..." I questioned.

"I need you and your friends to come with me. To the hospital. A.S.A.P." Carter mumbled quickly. It was easy to understand her though because she had an Irish accent, like me. I found it lovely and quite attractive on her.

Wait- why does she want us to go to the hospital with her? I'm confused. Is she hurt?

"Are you hurt?" I said aloud. She shook her head from left to right.

"No. But someone else is. And they need you. And your, uhm, buddies." I've never heard he talk like this. She's usually such a bad ass, and she stands up for herself. Something MUST be up.

"Uhm, well-"

"Please." She interrupted me. Her voice sounded weak, and honestly, almost desperate.

"Sure. Lemme grab the boys and go." I couldn't reject that.

I turned slightly towards the boys. "HEY GUYS. Come here, all of ya!" I shouted, loud enough for them to hear me over the loud television.

One by one, they all filed in.

Harry caught sight of Carter and his eyes got a little bigger. He spoke, "Who's you're lovely lady friend ya got here, Nialler?" He playfully smirked.

"Carter. And no funny business now, Curly, we need to get to the hospital, and quick, before it's too late." She replied the last part with less confidence than she had at the beginning of her sentence.

"Uhm..." They all mumbled awkwardly, confused. I just firmly nodded and just went with it.

Carter was already strutting down the hall and to the stairs. She slowly turned. "Coming or what? I need you." She said. We followed as if we were lost, and Carter was leading us to be found.

Carter's POV*

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

The boys behind me were making quite a ruckus. Laughing, loud walking, everything. And it was irritating the absolute shit out of me.

I guess I'm just irritated. Or nervous. Scared, maybe? Actually, it's all of the above. I can't believe Lila's surgery is today. Her open heart surgery. Oh god, the thought of my little sister on a table, with excruciating white lights above her, as they cut her open and TRY to fix, her, may I repeat, TRY.

Lila's had health problems all her life. Surgeries usually aren't normal for kids, but Lila is far more than used to them, and I feel quite bad for her. I'd take her place in a heartbeat if it meant she could have a normal childhood. But sadly, this isn't the case.

My little sister is a huge One Direction fan. She got quite ill right before we moved in next to those boys, which really is ironic. She got taken to the hospital then, and hasn't come back since.

Yeah, it's that serious.

But the promise I made Lila will be kept, for I am one who keeps my word. Lila had always wanted to meet One Direction. She loved them all, but especially Liam. I guess you can have a soft spot for one, eh? I personally don't, I'm more into bands like Imagine Dragons, or FUN.

Anyways, back to Lila. She really loves all the 1D boys, and I promised her that on a very special day, I will get One Direction to go and bless her.

I really hope it works. I know it sounds like a dumb thing, like an 11:11 wish or blowing out the birthday candles. But if we believe hard enough, maybe these boys' blessing will help Lila with her life- threatening surgery.

Yeah, these boys. The one's making stupid jokes behind me. Those boys.

"Hey, hey Zayn!" Said a boy with hair whipped to the side and blue grey eyes.

"What, Louis?" So called "Zayn" replied to, who I now know is Louis.

Yeah, I don't know they're names, gotta problem?

"What do you get when you cross a computer and a singer?" Louis asked childishly. When are these stairs going to end?

"Uhm, I dunno." The other boy, 'Zayn' replied. This joke again, really. Cheeeeeeeeeessssssssyyyyyyyy.

"A DELL! LIKE ADELE HAHAHAHA! GET IT?!?" Louis screeched out and laughed. All of the boys laughed like five year old's as well.

"You guys act like you're five damn years old." I spoke, after we finally reached the bottom of the stairs.

They didn't respond to me, you know what they did? They. Stuck. Their. Tongues. Out. At. Me.

"Are we in pre school? C'mon." I gave them the finger with a goofy smile to show them how stupid they are. They chuckled.

"C'mon Carter, can't take a joke?" Niall asked in his miraculous Irish accent.

Yeah, I said miraculous. I really think Niall's a good lad; and not to bad on the looks, either. None of them are, in fact.

"I can, when it's a good joke." I retorted.

The four other boys cooed. "OOOHHHHH." I even heard a, "You just got burned." From I don't know who. I giggled and walked outside to the cool London air.
