Amelia watched the man in the tank with horrified fascination. He appeared to be sleeping, but with all the wires and needles poking into him, she didn't see how that was possible. "Are you sure he deserves this, Dad?"
"Yes, Amelia. He won't hurt anyone-- and that's if he survives."
"Has he hurt anyone before?" The girl continued to stare. She wasn't scared. She knew she was safe as long as he was in the tank. Of course mutants would kill her if they got the chance, but this one wouldn't get the chance.
"Of course he has! All mutants have. You know that."
"Sorry, Dad." Amelia's attention was back on the man in the tank once again. He body wretched with pain. "If you don't want him to hurt anyone, why are you making him stronger?" Her father had explained what he was doing to the man before: fusing metal to his bones and claws.
"I'm tired of you questioning me..." He started to take a threatening step toward her, but stopped as the man thrashed again. "It's time," her father mumbled. He pushed some buttons on his panel, and Amelia watched as a liquid began to insert itself into the man's body.
Her father stepped next to her. "See that, Amelia? That's liquid Adamantium. It's unbreakable."
The teen nodded dumbly, and tensed as the man banged against the glass cage; his body strained against the pain. All of the sudden, he was still. "Is he..."
"No," her father interrupted, "He has a slight reading."
Amelia tried not to breathe a sigh of relief. She hated mutants, but she hated seeing anything die more. She slowly walked up to the tank. The man-beast's eyes were closed.
"Step back, Amelia," her father commanded.
The girl stayed in her spot and slowly placed a hand on the glass. The mutant's eyes flicked open, almost like he could sense someone was there. The sterile water tinted everything inside the tank, but Amelia could tell that the man's eyes were a dark brown. His hair was a little darker, and she really couldn't see the rest of his face because it was covered in a breathing mask.
"I said move, Amelia," her dad repeated.
"You... you said he wouldn't hurt me as long as he's in the tank." The Tank Man continued to look at her.
"What do you know? You're seventeen, so stop being fool--"
Without warning, the man cut through the glass, making it fly everywhere and letting water rush out. Amelia gripped her cheek as a large shard cut deep into it. She fell back and hit her head. The last thing she saw was the mutant stepping out of the now-broken tank.
Then everything went black.

"Demons" by Imagine Dragons is sort of the theme song for this book. Plus, I just love the song. ^.^

Experiment (Wolverine)
FanficAmelia's father was a scientist. Now, one of his experiments is looking for her. +++ NOTE: THIS IS A SPIN OFF. In the same universe, but I make the plot as I see fit. Figured I'd warn you now.
