Mingyu POV

Today was the day. When Areum, my beautiful and annoying cousin, was being asked to stay with God.

I sniffle and cry as the monitor becomes an annoying alarm clock. It's like it's saying, 'She's gone. Better leave and get back to reality.'

Although Areum may be the most fragile person I've ever met, I might've been the second. She was very strong, even through being diagnosed with such an illness.

I walk away, trying to find my way to the nearest park. But, all I see is a blur.

"Yah, Mingyu-Ssi! Why are you crying?" Wonwoo jogs to walk next to me.

At that moment, I completely break down. "Areum, sh-she's... Dead."

Wonwoo sighed, trying to contain his tears. "Mingyu, she's in a better place." I look at him and wipe away the tears. I search through my bag and found the remaining letters she had written to him.

"Here. Areum wanted me to give these to you an-" Wonwoo grabbed them and tugged at my arm to sit on a bench.

"Let's read them!"

"She loved you...?" I murmur. "She loved you." I repeated in a quiet voice.

"And I loved her." He stated. "I think I still do... But Mingyu?"

"Yes?"

"Now that she's not here, there's someone else who's... A little like her."

I sighed and looked down, waiting for him to say another name. Maybe even Ji Eun's, the prettiest girl at school.

"His name is Kim Mingyu."

I looked at him in the eyes. My face begins to heat up. "Wonwoo, I-"

"Save it. There's no denying that you love me. So Mingyu, will you do the honours of promising Areum a fun and loving life? Live it to the fullest? And maybe even, live to the fullest... With me?"

I smile and shift to hug him.

"Of course."

A few moments later, we found ourselves cloud-watching.

"I'll miss you Areum. Have fun up there! Your new home. Fly high. I love you." I smiled.
