THE BEGINNING

i wake up every morning telling myself that it is alright, that i am normal, i am like everyone else, i must be like everyone else, if not, i will find myself facing death.

every single day is the same, i take the daily injection that everyone has to. to make sure we are normal but in all honestly it is to make sure no one has to be killed.

i greet my parents, Sarah and Jessica Loftwood, my younger brother, Herondale Loftwood, and eat breakfast. no matter what i feel, i plaster a fake smile on my face and act as if nothing is wrong with me.

as i am leaving the house to go to school, i tell myself the words i must say to survive the day.
