{2} Finding The Right Place & Time
~ISABELLE~
I am very frustrated as we walk down the wide open space in the mall, Hunter right beside me munching down a taco.
We used to eat tacos together...
No, Isabelle, STOP! It might swallow you whole and you will be obsessed again, like seriously, my ex is right there, beside me, gobbling the poor taco down as I sip from my cappuccino rather awkwardly.
We were never awkward before, like EVER we would rant the randomest things ever and would just end up laughing in the end.
But that’s the past and I'll leave it that way, yeah we’re barely friends, more like acquaintances than friends, we haven’t talked about that yet but I'll get to that soon.
“Hey Isa, why you so quiet?” Hunter asks concern clear in his voice and I am ready to be dropped into my coffin.
Wait what?! Hell no! this can’t be happening to me! I can’t be affected by him and now I just want to barf at myself.
“Nothing to talk about.” I grumble, sipping from my drink.
“Isa?” A far too familiar voice said, I flipped around to see Zadie Cambria. I know her family name is so weird.
“Zadie?” I wonder and once I know my eyes aren’t deceiving me,
“ZADIE!” I jump towards her, engulfing her in a bear hug, I miss this little bitch so much.
“I miss you too Isa.” Her voice is muffled so I let go of her, tugging her shirt since I kind of wrinkled it already.
“Oh my gawd is this your boyfriend!? OM! This is a keeper!” She squeals and I look down and I can tell Hunter is scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Um.. We-re not really—“ He starts
“We broke up.” I finished sharply, not wanting to look like an idiot before the man himself.
“OM, why?” Zadie asked, her expression from a happy one exchanged with a sad, sorrowful one.
“I kind of—“ He starts once again.
“He dumped me.” I finished. Once again sharply. I don’t need to explain it to her in front of him.
“Oh okay.” She send me a look telling me to tell her and I nod.
“Um. Hunter, we need some girl time you go somewhere else and I’ll text you.” I instruct and he nods. I quickly grab Zadie’s arm and started dragging her to the food court, yeah I’ll get that big sundae with her and we’ll discuss about it without any hesitation.
We sit down on a vacant table, sitting the tray on top, we both sit from across each other. This is what I need, a nice calm talk with one of my close friends, yeah. I need this.
“So… what happened?” She asked, concern over powering her small frame. Zadie is actually very beautiful, with a kind of layered bob, the ends of her hair sticking to her skin, side bangs being pinned back. She’s pretty tan, has beautiful eyes that if you stare deeply you might catch up to her beauty.
“Ugh. It starts like this…” I begin explaining the happenings to her, she didn’t interrupt, we just kept shoving ice cream into our mouths.
“I am so sorry Is’.” Zadie places a comforting hand on top of mine.
I sigh heavily, feeling tears brim my eyes but I refuse to let them go, this strong feelings for him is almost so dangerous but I know I can’t love him anymore, he's to good to be true for me and I know it’s not right.
