Ava was really starting to get bored of Greek culture. She was forced to be smushed into a small, dusky room with a partially working AC. After thirty minutes of droning on from Mrs. Rasif, a late fifties woman with bushy eyebrows and thick grey hair. She kept looking at her with massive reading glasses making the look of a small insect. Ava's hand started to drift over to the small crumpled paper in the dark corner of the desk. When it opened, she read...
Ava,
When we gonna book it, I swear
Mrs. Rasif is gonna kill my brain cells with this boredom.Ethan
Ava just slowly looked backwards at the Scrawny kid with dirty blond locks exploding out of a small baseball cap. She looked from her friend to the small woman in front of the room.
"Mrs. R, we.. I need to go to the bathroom." Announced Ava with her hand raised. The teacher mumbled something incomprehensible and motioned towards the door. Ava shot from the chair and half-sprinted towards the doorway. As it closed behind her, she heard Ethan say
"over there!" And a shuffle of moment. He appeared behind her and they started to walk down the narrow hallway. A massive window was planted across the tiled wall, showing the small, open yard with meager recess equipment.
Ethan said "What we gonna do?"
"I was feeling a bit... Prank Mrs. Dansik," Ava asked " I already have a idea and it involves a very long piece of toilet paper and a hair dryer." Ethan sneered and started walking. As Ava caught up, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall. Ava ducked into the nearest locker and Ethan took the opposite. Walking down the hall was a what seemed to be a conflicted Mrs. Dansik.
" What's the point, she probably is not what we think." Mrs. Dansik said to her self " We know the virgin goddess wouldn't give birth, especially to demon spawn like her. Ava's raven black hair started to matt against her forehead as sweat beaded down her scalp.
"Still we should be sure, bring the girl to the office... Without the disastrous Satyr." Mrs. Dansik cooed. Ava looked through the small locker grate and into Ethan's wide eyes. She gazed back over to what used to be Mrs. Dansik. From the waist, it was a librarian with a small teal skirt. From above the hips, glistening, bronze and silver scales parted into three reptilian heads. Razor sharp teeth snapping at each other, talking in disfigured voices, as if the same sound was coming from hundreds of different directions at once. Ava looked over to Ethan once again. She saw him fidgeting with something in his bag. He pulled out a small Rolex watch and latched it across his wrist. For a split second, their eyes locked before he burst out of the locker. The what used to be Mrs. Dansik reared back and hissed " Satyr scum, we will break you!" It spat green saliva towards Ethan, who dodged by a hairs length. When the spit landed on a small locker, the metal corroded under the acidic material. Ava heard a button click as the Rolex expanded, spinning into a table-sized Greek shield. Small dented designs of a boy and girl fighting a cyclops atop rocky cliffs were engraved into the bronze.
"What is happening!" Ava yelled, staring awestruck at the massive shield and three-headed reptile. Before Ethan could respond, a scaly tail flipped under his feet and slammed him to the floor. The shield un-latched from his wrist and converted back to the small watch. Ava scooped up the magical item, clamped it on her arm, and pressed the button. The reptile rammed full force into the Greek shield, slamming of into another locker. Ethan stumbled up from the ground... Without his pants. Instead of naked flesh, two bipedal, hairy goat legs rammed full fire into reptile-Dansik's back. The monster was catapulted into a water fountain.
As water pipes spewed from the damaged fountain, Ethan yelled "Ava we need to go NOW!" The confused girl only nodded and ran towards the nearest exit with her goat-legged best friend.----------------------------------------------
