North lends me his hand and helps me up on my feet. He continues walking without saying a word to me, I follow behind him. "That's what you get for making fun of my phone." He concludes while pulling the device out again. He smirks at the phone.
"What is it? Also why did they think I was an alien? I don't look like one do I?" I ask, then ponder the thought myself. "It's nothing, don't worry about it and don't say that here!" He pushes me into another ally along the side walk and keeps his hand on my back guiding my way through it. "North! Stop it, what are you doing??!" Then he pushes me through a door and closes it behind us. "You need to stop saying stuff like that out in public! You're going to get us 'Exterminated'." I look around at the room and nod at his remark, not really knowing what he had just said. The room was quite small, the ceiling almost touching North's head, but he was at least six foot. It reminded me of a motel room, had a design that flowed through the whole room. The design was like a rustic kind of look. Two small beds to the left of the caged door, a desk on the right.
"Whatever, so why did they think I was an alien?" He started pacing between the beds to the desk, back and forth. I sat down on one of the beds. "Well...they could sense that you weren't from this era, so they concluded that you were an alien. Taking the form of a human, that's what I'm guessing." It stayed silent after he said that. I couldn't believe that this was happening, I just wanted to go back home. I wanted to leave this place, but at the same time stay. It was so beautiful here, but I needed to go back. I couldn't stay, it doesn't matter how much I want to stay, and people need me back home. Then it hit me, maybe North could help me get back, but maybe he could help me kill Mary's mom. I could do what I was sent to do.
"Wow, I would say that you know that's actually what it is." He stared at me blankly. "I guess we both hide things from each other, correct?" Well he was right about that one. It seemed like he knew everything about me, or did he just want me to think that? Why do I even trust him, I don't even know who this guy is. For all I know 'North' isn't his real name. "That's true, but we could help each other too." I reply back. He nods and sits on the other bed. There was tension in the room, it was surrounding us, and making is harder to concentrate on the subject. Even though that was the only thing on my mind at the moment. "Do you know who Mary is? Or maybe her mother?" He looks at me in complete shock, eyes wider than I've ever seen. He slowly rises from the bed and walks back into the wall.
"Why would you ask me such a horrible question? Who doesn't know who she is, it's just that no one chooses to talk about her, especially her mother." I'm at a loss for words, I thought that he wouldn't know about her, but I guess he did. I guess it was good that he knew about her, he could help me kill her. It sounded like everyone was terrified of her, especially her mom. The only question I had was why? "Well, I was kind of sent here to do something...something I thought I would never do. I don't even know who she is."
"Test, what are you talking about? I thought you came here at your own will. You were sent?" Oh no, I slipped. Well, now it's a good time to tell him the truth. Here it goes. "Well, I was taken and sent here by Dr. Mayhem to kill Mary's mother. That's all I remember, the belt broke and now I'm stuck and I have no way of getting back to 2060." He stood there staring at the floor, saying not a word. I stood up and started heading toward him.
"So, I was wondering, maybe you could help me. Fix my belt of course." I say reassuringly. He doesn't look up, he doesn't even move a muscle in his body. Then a buzz sound comes from his jean pocket. He takes put the small device and starts typing on it, it makes a weird clicking noise. "What are you doing?" He grins and looks up at me, putting his phone in his back pocket.
"I'll help you, only if you do one thing." I smile, but then that smile slowly turns into a frown. "What would I have to do?" He stares into my amber eyes and smirks. "It's not my rules, but you have to make a significant difference in this time period to try to go back to your time period." I'm at a loss for words, I can't even look at him anymore.
