"Alright see you later kiddo!" my dad calls as I close the car door.

I turn and wave yelling a quick goodbye before turning towards my new school. I huff my breath loudly as I walk towards the big doors. I open the door and step inside taking in the view. It was a nice office, very organized and pristine. I walk in slowly taking it all in.

"Hi I'm Lizzie, Its my first day of school here. I'm not sure who I am supposed to talk to though.." I say to the lady sitting at the desk up front. She looked friendly enough.

"Well hello there! Welcome! We are so happy you decided to join us after all." She answered with a smile, "I'm Mrs. Groves, let me make a quick call and I will have someone walk you to the counselor's office."

I nod my head and looked around again as she made the call. It isn't long before a short stubby woman shows up. Immediately her face turns into a scowl.

"Hello and welcome to Roseburg Academy. Please follow me." she says without a smile. She looks down at my uniform, the scowl deepens.

"The rules are clear, those pants are out of dress code." This time a smile was plastered across her face. Not a nice one.

Of course..

"I am sure it wont happen again, its only her first day of course," Mrs. Grove says before I can answer.

"Hmph, It had better not. It would be rather unfortunate to end up sent home your first week. Not a very good start I'd say." the rude lady replies shortly while turning and walking towards the door.

I mouth a quick thank you to Mrs. Groves receiving a small smile in return.

She led me out the door past the group of students painting a poster and to the counselors office into a seating area. She left without another word.

So.. now what?

"Elizabeth Reynolds." I hear my name being called from a room across the hall.

I walk quickly into the room and sit down.

"Hi Elizabeth, I will be your counselor. My name is Mr. Hardwin. Do you have all your paperwork with you?"

"Uh yes.. One sec." I reach into my bag and pull out the folder passing it to him quickly.

He puts on his glasses and looks through it briefly before inputting things into the computer.

"Well everything seems to be in order. A sophomore huh, so what brings you to Roseburg this late into the year?" he asks with a smile.

"Oh I just moved in with my dad, not that far from here actually like a 10 minute walk." I reply with a smile as well.

"Wonderful! So tell me how are things with your dad? Did you chose to move in? or.." he breaks off.

ugh.. what is this? therapy?

"Its a long story really.. but yes I suppose I did." I bite the inside of my cheek.

"Great it sounds like you will be just fine, your grades are decent and I have heard nothing but good things about you. If you will follow me, Janessa will be giving you a quick campus tour then I'm sure your class mates would love to show you to each class." he stands leading me outside his office.

decent ? what? wait.. did he say Janessa? ...there's no way its her.. omg what if it is?!

I can't help but think about the last time she was involved.. I felt like running out already.

The door swung open and I sucked in a deep breath as a small girl walks in shyly. I let out my breath and can't help the relieved look that falls on my face.
