A summer's dream

Death & Destruction

The massive beast rose out of the water with a terrifying roar, it's eyes showing pure hatred. It took a deep breath and exhaled a stream of ice that split a house in two and kept the family trapped in the ice. I watched them suffocate, I was too terrified to move.

Meanwhile

"Sir, the bewilderbeast has reached Berk." A voice said.
"Gooood." An evil and old voice chuckled while saying this "Ready the troops! We attack Berk at once!" The one armed man shouted.
"But Drago, is this the best course of action? Wouldn't you want to take hiccup-" the man was cut off by a backhand sending him flying off the ship.
"Silence!" Drago shouted angrily. He laughed evilly as a fleet of ships advanced on Berk.

Death. All around me was death. I watched as an armored dragon ripped off a man named Snotlout's head and attacked his dragon, Hookfang, with deadly force. I watched as an axe thrown by one of Dragos warriors hit Ruffnut and Tuffnut's zippleback between its two necks and nearly split the zippleback in two. Ruff and Tuff were quickly captured and just as quickly decapitated by one of the Warriors. Astrid hofferson, my mother who was pregnant with her second child, quickly grabbed my arm. "Cmon Austin we have to get to the ships!"
I was dragged to the ships as Astrid was hurrying to get all the women, children, and elderly on the ships to flee the island. One of the ships made it off the island and into sea but I screamed when I saw a fleet of ships approaching, I watched as it was boarded and every last person on the ship was systematically slaughtered. Just as I was about to get on a ship and leave my mothers deadly nadder, Stormfly, was taken over by the bewilderbeast's telepathy. I wailed as Stormfly whipped around and shot a tail spike into Astrid's stomach killing the baby. I ran over to my mom "Mommy!?" I yelled.
"Austin..." She said struggling for breath.
"Mommy please be okay." I said worriedly not fully understanding that she was dying.
"I'll be-" she coughs up blood then continues talking "I'll be alright Austin, but I think I'm gonna take a little vacation for a while." She smiled weakly with blood dripping out of her mouth, her gasps for air becoming slower as she died. "Get to hiccup, he'll know what to do..." Her eyes closed slowly as her life left this world and went to Valhalla, her head slumped into her shoulders.
"Mommy? Mommy!" I yelled shaking her shoulder but she was already gone. Hiccup came flying down on toothless and landed next to me. He hopped off toothless and ran to Astrid and I.
"Astrid!" He ran up to her and put a finger to her neck to check her pulse but she was already gone. He sighed sadly and turned to me "Austin get on plasma and fly far away. Don't look back and whatever you do don't get caught. Keep the haddock family going and remember Berk, can you do this for me?" He said.
"But why daddy, why do I have to leave?" I asked not understanding.
"You have to Austin, you'll understand in time. Now go!" He picked me up and placed me in Plasma's saddle. Tears were falling from the both of us as Plasma took to the skies. I couldn't help myself and I turned around just in time to see Hiccup and Toothless be bitten in half by the massive bewilderbeast, their bodies falling in two halves to the earth. In the hours that followed the island of Berk was destroyed, every man, woman, and child was captured and killed. The island was burned to the ground, all that was left standing were a few buildings that escaped the blaze. The statue of Stoick the Vast collapsed into the village, crushing the villagers underneath with a sickening splat. The reminder of that great man was lost to time, never to be seen for many years. I flew for days on plasma until I reached a kingdom called Rome and I was taken in by a family of three who fed me and took care of me as if I was their own.
