(Foot steps on a metallic sounding staircase)

Rowan: Hello. So, after the band practiced last week, I thought we could just record a little bit about ourselves.

Dale: (speaking over each other) Idiotic if you asked me.

Sarah: Yeah, but nobody did, Dale. Who's going first? ...Alright, I will then. My name's Sarah, I'm 30 years old. And I'm here because I have to survive somehow.

(fumbling)

Rowan: Deep. Hi, I'm Rowan.

(Door squeak)

(Outside)

Rowan: I'm 17. And I'm the musical one. I do all the music stuff; keeps us all together you know? We play a few songs around once of week, normally under my instruction- well, Sarah doesn't. she just sits there smiling.

Sarah: Oh Stop.

Dale: Oh yeah, alright... I'm Dale. I'm 3 years older than our musical genius here, whatever that makes me. I like candy floss and long walks on the beach.

(Ellie chuckling)

I'm here 'coz I got nowhere left. This is my home now, scavenging with these (unintelligible)... I play guitar.
(Pause)

(fumbling)

Ellie: Yo! What up?! My name is Ellie. I'm 14 and I like music, like Rowan. And I like hitting the drums in his songs. It's like venting you know?

Rowan: Ellie, are you gonna take this seriously?

Ellie: Absolutely not...

Sarah: We'll sit here in the sun for a bit. Ellie, d'you wanna sit by the edge here? Use this thing as a rest? Just be careful okay?

Ellie: Yeah, okay.

Rowan: We thought we'd come put here in the sunshine, give some details about who we actually are. Introduce ourselves...

(pause)

Rowan: It's quite nice out here. The sun shine glimmering off the apocalypse.

(fumbling)

Dale: Grab her grab her grab-

Sarah: (screams)

Rowan: What just happened? Where's Ell- Oh my God, did she fall?!

(Pause)

Rowan: Oh Lord... No....

Sarah: I think I'm going to be sick.

Dale: Oh dear. That's an... Damn... Unfortunate end.

Rowan: Where is she? I can't see her?

Sarah: Rowan, give me that goddamn recorder.

(Fumbling)

(Tape stops)
