The sun disappears behind the horizon.
In my dream, her gin grows bigger as the light dims. Her gun is pointed to my head, fully loaded, ready for any movement. She whispers something in my ear.
I want to move. Why aren't i moving. My body is limp, breathing, eyes closed.
She takes one step back. The gun clicks once, then the bullet is launched.
Before i can watch the bullet shoot through my head, i am awoken my Travis shaking me to wake me up.
I sit up to see food on the table for me.
Eating as fast as i can, i look out the window.Business workers speed walking down the pavement, glancing at their watches every few seconds.
"We need to go now." Jackson demands, standing in front of the door.
Alex runs up to him and grabs his hand waiting for Travis and i to go. She always acted kiddish.
I grab my bag and sling it over my shoulder, tie my shoes on, and make my way to the door. We all thank mr Wiley for letting us stay, then go on our way through the dreary city.
Everything here seemed grey. Even the people. No one ever seemed happy. The outcome of it was the city losing color.
As we snake our way through the crowds of people, i would occasionally bump into someone and loose track of the others. After i pass the busy rush hour area, i find alex, Travis, and Jackson waiting for me.
We continue to walk, finding our way to the end of the city.
*a few hours later*
"We'll stop for a break soon" Jackson directs without looking back at us.
I groan a little in hunger and pain. I look down at the ground, my feet bothering me.
When i wasn't looking, a body runs into my back causing me to fall foward.
"Im am so sorry." The boy looks at me for a second, then at my brothers and sister, then back at me. "Macy? Alex? Jackson? Travis?" He questions.
The four of us are in a mix of fear and confused.
"How do you know us?" I ask in a harsh tone.
"Its fine. He's our roomate." Travis says stepping closer to the boy."this is Mitch.
Mitch nods. "I heard about your break out so i escaped this morning before they put up security. I wanted to come."
"We shouldn't trust him" i shout backing away. A few people look at us as they pass.
Mitch looks a little hurt.
"If we leave him out, they'll find him and it'll lead them to us." Jackson has a point.
Alex butts in,"we should give him a chance."
I look helplessly at Travis. He shrugs and motions Mitch to follow.
Damnit.
