I could smell her. Her sweet blood, her shampoo, her perfume, everything. She was still running. I stood in the middle of the road, watching her limp away from me. So cute... she thinks she can get away. Not so smart, is she? I took a step forward, and she gasped, her eyes wide. She turned to face me, slowly walking backwards. Stupid little girl. Just seventeen, so much life ahead of her... A shame she had to run away. Now I'll have to kill her. She pleaded with me, trying her best to get me to leave her alone, promising she would't tell anyone. I know that's a lie. Idiot.

"You're dead," I said with a wicked grin, my two sharp fangs being revealed. She stepped down the wrong way, and fell to the ground, now crawling away.

"N-no, please, I'll go back with you if you just don't kill me, please I'll do anything!" she whined, her long black hair falling into her face.

"Oh, I know you would, Maddie... maybe I'll kill you when I take you back... we can't have anyone driving by, now can we? I'll suck you dry, little girl... you'll pay for running away from me," I drawled, now standing directly over her. I snatched up a handful of her hair, and yanked her up to my eye level. "You gonna listen now, little one?"

She attempted a nod, which made her hair pull tighter. She yelped, and threw her hands up, scratching my knuckles. No reaction. I'm a vampire, remember, Maddie...?

I raised my hand, and swiped down at her right temple. She didn't have time to make any noise, and she fell unconscious. I picked her up and slung her her my shoulder, hurriedly walking off the road and into the woods. Headlights could be seen, so I had to get out of sight as soon as possible. I saw red and blue, then heard sirens.

  Police... how the fuck?

I jumped behind a tree, begging for her blood to not be left on the road. I smelled the air, targeting the certain spot she had been on. No blood. I smirked, turning around, and quickly walked away. Knowing the police car was still too far down the road, there was no need to hide. Chuckling, I walked deeper into the woods, covering any evidence of Maddie being in this area.

She's mine... all mine.
