Diana woke up to a piercing bright light which seemed to be directed at my eyes in a room that smelt like bleach and antiseptic. She sat up and rested her head on the metal bed behind her, as she did so, she felt like a huge load was being supported by her flimsy neck and was at the brick of falling right off, so she dragged her heal along the white cotton bed spread as she tried to lift her aching knees to her chest. She fit her chin atop her knees and tried to observe her surrounding.
Unfortunately for her she could barely turn her head horizontally thirty degrees not to even talk about a full one eighty. But from her peripheral view all she was able to observe was An off-white paint which covered the wall opposite her.
She rose her arms in an attempt to wrap them around her shin but something which she hadn't noticed was pulling her right arm back , she then noticed that there was a thin pipe connected to her hand.
She yanked it out ignoring the pain and started hyperventilating at the sight of warm blood which oozed from her skin immediately. She rocked back and forth, her heart racing, breath short but quick as she muttered incoherent words to her self .Just as a little pool of blood started to form at the foot of the bed, was when a short brunette nurse walked in from a door on the far left of the room with a metal tray filled with medications. She closed the door with her foot and placed the tray on a table right next o the door as she hummed a tune to herself, her mind far from the present. When she was done sorting the medicines and filling up the syringe she turned around to head to the right side of the patient's bed to give the regular medication. But to her surprise the ten year old patient who had been in comma for nearly five days was awake and was almost slipping right back into unconsciousness due to the amount of blood she was loosing.
When this dawned on her the metal tray she was holding at the time dropped and sent a loud clatter which bounced back from the four white walls as metal met ceramic.
"Doctor Parson!! doctor Parson!!" She shouted as she ran out to inform the doctor of the good news and bad news.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Diana woke up later that day with a killer head ache, heavy eye lids and lots of questions to be answered.
Not too long after her second awakening, the nurse who had gone in earlier, Dr parson and a sheriff strolled into Diana's hospital room and made sure to keep a safe distance from her. not knowing what she would do next.
As doctor Parson slowly inched closer to Diana, she doubled His pace and moved farther away from him to create some distance between them. He gave her a warm smile which caused her to calm down a little .
He stood about five feet away from her bed, drew out a black swivel chair along with a note pad from his white coat and sat down, then said,
"Hello, I'm Doctor Parson. And you are?"
'Who am I?', was the dominant question that reverberated in her mind. Of coarse she know her
name but the totality of who a person 'is' is much more than a mere form of identification.
"My nam-" her voice was raspy from having not spoken for a while so the nurse gave her a cup of warm water, but her hands were too shaky to properly grasp the cup so she was fed the water.
She tried at another failed attempt to remember something other than her name but she felt like she was reaching out to something too far for her to reach. All she hoped for at that moment was that time will close up the distance between her and her target .
"My name is Diana... but as for who I am, I have no idea" she strained
out.^^^^^^^
A/N: hey wonderful people thank you for picking this book. I hope I was able to portray my screwed up imagination well. Since this is the first book I have ever written that I am proud of, I will really appreciate feedbacks and sensible criticism 😅as well as your votes.
If you are reading this Book for the first time don't read the next announcement
{If you are one of the 47 readers I had before I made a few adjustments to this prologue, I am really sorry if it has turned out to be...not what you like but I respect your later judgment .Also the chapter 1 will be deleted and maybe the title of the book will change as well but the plot still remains the same.}😘~L.A
