Hi. I'm Jade. I'll be telling you my story, which is on how I got my supernatural powers. Sounds crazy, right? That's 'cause it is. Anyway, I guess I'll start telling you now. It all started when I was 12 years old. I grew up in a pretty nice house-- mansion, I should say. My mom died when I was very young. My father is a scientist. He found a new element, can you believe? One day, I was walking around that enormous lab of his, and then I found a strange, black, yet glowing, liquid. Being the twelve year old that I was, I was quite curious. I looked around the vial to see if there was anything to indicate what it was. That's when the liquid started giving off a sickly sweet smell, that just got stronger, and stronger every second. Then everything went black.

I woke up in an ambulance, unsure of what had just happened. Everything was still blurry, but I could hear words muttered around me. "We don't even know what this chemical is!" I heard a doctor say. "Well we need to get it out of her system, ASAP!" I heard another one say. "How? It's a vapor!" I went back to sleep.

I woke up in a hospital bed. Duh. I was still in that half awake state, everything blurred, but I could still hear everything around me. "I- I- It's having an effect on her, but we just don't know if it's good or bad." Of course. More doctors."Well it's a odd effect, that's for sure. We've never seen anything like it." Then it hit me. The new element. That must've been it! Then I blacked out, again.

This time, I woke up completely. That was a nice change. Nobody was around, so I just pushed a button for the nurse. I was famished and quite parched. I reached for the glass of water next to me, but I couldn't quite reach it. That's when it started. The glass floated into my hand! It was like telekinesis! Now that was a power I'd wanted for a long time to be honest. Superpowers, maybe that's what I had? I wanted to test it, so that's just what I did. I focused on the glass of water, and tried to move it. It wouldn't. I tried again, focusing even harder. Then it moved, and to add to that, it moved wherever I wanted it to! Then the nurse walked in. I dropped the glass, and the water spilled onto the foot of the bed. She didn't suspect a thing, thankfully.

"Hi hon," she said.

"Hi. How long was I here?" I asked in reply.

" 'Bout three days." she replied.

"Oh, okay," I said. "Do I have to stay here any longer?"

"The doctors want to know what it is that you had in your system, but it's your choice if you'd like to stay or not." she replied.

"I think I'd rather go home and not be a doctor's guinea pig, no offense," I said.

"Okay," she said. "Your father is right outside. Shall I bring him in?"

"Please do." I said.

The nurse brought in my dad. I was very happy to see him. I could tell he felt the same, because right when I got up and out of the bed, he engulfed me in a massive hug. "Ribs," I said. "Sorry," my dad replied, and let go. We walked out of the room, thanked the nurse, and went home.
