It was the day. I sat on the bus quietly anticipating the arrival of the white and red Camero. I whipped out my phone and sent a text, to my friend, Kayla. I wanted everything to be perfect.
Let me start here. Why is a high school Senior riding the bus to school? Because Junior rides.
Junior is the perfect person. Athlete, perfect skin, and gorgeous eyes. Me and him have been on and off since Freshman year. We hate each other, but for some reason always come back to each other.
His girlfriend just broke up with him, so I know for a fact he'll run to me for comfort. Why do I know this, you may ask? Because it happens every time.
The Camero finally pulled up to the stop and let out the perfect human. He looks gorgeous as always.
He stepped on and immediately sat down next to me. I could feel a strange silence. 'Why do these things happen to me' I hear. "Its gonna be okay." I say quietly. I feel a tear roll onto my hand as Juniors head hits my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around him and sang a lullaby about being happy.
It takes exactly 10 minutes and 23 seconds for us to get to the next bus stop. By that time, Junior was already asleep, laying on my shoulder for comfort. I kissed his forehead just to prove...
At the next stop, some people get on. I see Keifer and Chris first.
Neither of them speak, but Chris is excited about a basketball game and Keifer is thinking about his girlfriend.
The bus is pulls off into the open highway and we were on our way. I was ready to do it. I told myself that today was not the day to sit around and wait for my dreams to come true.
I waited. Junior was still asleep like a bunny who'd just delivered all his eggs. I hear Juniors phone go off for a text message. We were almost at the school. Me being the nosey type, I reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. It's from Sam, his ex. She wants him back. I delete the text before he ever sees it and slip his phone back in his pocket.
        •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Everything happened so fast. One minute I was on the bus holding Junior, the next I was flying forward over bus seats while Junior was being flung through the aisles. Everything stopped, but I couldn't move.
There were sirens. I heard exactly 7 emergency service vehicles. All of a sudden i was being picked up from the middle of 2 different bus seats and carried to another car. I was Conscious the whole time, but I couldn't move. I was wet. I knew what the substance was, as I could feel it running down my back. the thin red liquid dropped from 8 areas of my body. I knew this was it for me.
