I walked into my new apartment building, all my life I wanted to be in LA, I didn't want to be in school, i didn't want to be with people I was around in school, I didn't want to be in my small home town, I didn't want to be stuck in the rain in England.
And now I'm not.
I finished school last year, I'm almost 18 now, I thought I would do the decent thing and although it was my dream to get out here in LA, I thought I better stay and just sort things out for myself, so that's why I waited, now I am really here. Almost 12 years of school, and I am here.
I got off the plane this morning, or a couple of hours ago, however you want to look at it. I wheeled my suitcases into my room with the help of the man from the lobby and now I am sitting on my bed writing this.

I might leave my unpacking for a couple of days, because I really want to look around a bit and get my bearings, you sent a text to your parents letting them know you're safe and you will call them later in the evening for a full update on your day, and a general chat. I am very close to my parents, and as an only child, it's strange they let me move out at such a young age, the rest of my family are completely against it-COMPLETELY. But I just keep reminding myself, it's my life, it's my dream, not theirs.

Around 2pm I walked out my apartment in search of a snack, luckily there was a coffee house across the street "silly me haha, this is America, of course there will be a coffee shop"The door was reflective so you caught a glimpse of your very "glamorous" airport clothing, aka sweatpants and a cropped sweatshirt, "oh yeah maybe I should have changed first" you thought and couldn't help but smile to yourself. The door swung open and you heard the general chit chat of friends and parents and elderly people catching up and the type of gossip you get everywhere.
Everyone seemed to be sitting in groups, whether it was two people or 10 people. There was a youngish man who you accidentally brushed past as you walked in, "oh I'm so sorry" you said as he looked up, and you caught a glimpse of his blue eyes sparkling in the ray of sun which coincidentally found a way though the windows. "-wow, oH oh sorry haha-" you said awkwardly, forgetting you just said thAT OUT LOUD!! "Oh haha it's cool" he laughed shyly as you caught him off guard..."um is this chair taken?" You asked, carefully watching the way his thin shaped eyebrows lift up and the way his blonde messy hair ruffled in time with his hand when he touched it- "yes, I'm sorry, this seats taken" he said with a smirk on his face.
"Oh right, sorry, have a good day" you said as you began to walk off to look at the board with-what seemed like-100 different coffees. You felt your hand get grabbed so you turned around to be met by the blonde stranger again, "obviously that wasn't a very good pick up line, this seat is definitely not taken, why don't you sit down" he said in his raspy American accent, "oh alright" you said smiling before asking for his name and making conversation. "My names aidan, do you come here a lot? I haven't seen you before" "yeah well I actually just moved here-my accent, I'm fro-" "from England?!" He butted in, "yeah haha" you said laughing at his excitement. "Oh so when did you move here?" He asked, genuinely intrigued in you, "you'll laugh when I say this, but about 3 hours ago!" --the conversation went on for at least 2 hours, finally ending in "where abouts are you staying? I can drop you off if you like" aidan asked, "I don't supposed you've managed to get a car yet"
"Oh thank you, are you sure? And no, actually I haven't done anything, just made time for coffee!"
"Oh course it's fine, where do you stay?"
"Just up the road, I forgot, it's not that far actually I can walk, thank you though." You said realising it would be stupid to drive you when you can walk back in 5 minutes,
"Oh, there?" Pointing to the large modern looking building you're staying in, "I live there too!"
"No way" you said surprised
"I have to park my car over there anyway so you might as well just jump in, I'm not going out of my way" he said smiling, then walking out the door with his keys tight in his hand.
You realise how tall he his, 6 foot at least, you walk after him studying every inch of his body,
-
"Here we are, you can go on ahead if you like"
You turn away from his shiny black jeep and call the lift up from the car park to floor 3
"Bye, I'll see you around, aidan" you call and you see a hand emerge from the drivers seat, waving, "bye!"

Next evening
-
You are going to order some food then you hear commotion from the next few rooms a long, you being intrigued, poke your head out the door and see flashes of pretty material and dresses and smartly dressed people, aidan?
You realise it's him and call "hello!", he says "oh hey!" "Wait how do you fancy going to a party tomorrow night? Were all getting ready"
"Oh wow id love too, Is it fancy though because I don't have any dresses like that in my suitcases" you say feeling slightly uncomfortable
There's some murmurings coming from the room, you pick out words like "who's that" "what she doing here" "who" "British girl"
Aidan shushes them and says "how about you meet me here tomorrow and I'll help you find Something to wear, and give you some details"

Day of the party
-
Your shopping with aidan went great, you have a tight fitting grey dress with cut out slits at the side showing off your toned stomach and long legs.
You straighten your hair and put on some winged eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, the usual, and are about to leave when you hear your doorbell.
"HEYY!" You hear in the now-familiar
Deep American voice. And your door opens to find a tall, handsome, well dressed man, blonde messy hair, aidan. "Wow" "er" "yeah we're ready to go" he says as you both stand amazed.
