Dead Eyes

Ever heard of Dead Eyes? I know that at least once in your life you've seen it or experienced it first hand. You will be talking to somebody, stroking a pet or just walking down the street and then you see it, a mere twinkle.

For that brief moment Dead Eyes is there. You see people stop and look around, you see someone's face go distant for a second while you speak to them, and when you ask what's wrong the reply is
"Oh nothing." But it is something, they just don't know it.

You see your pet look at nothing and you don't know why.

I know what that is. When Dead Eyes is there, you forget what you was going upstairs for, you can't remember a name, you stand still for no apparent reason. You look in the fridge and have no idea what you're looking for.

Somebody who you were destined to meet someday is just about to die.

There's something you can do though, if you really want to. Dead Eyes only has those few seconds. If you say during that moment "Dead Eyes never cries", You and this person you were meant to know someday, you will switch places and Dead Eyes will take you instead.
