Why He Was So Serious (A NaruHina fanfiction [one shot])

One day in Konoha, Hinata wondered....

Ever since that confession in the fight with Pein, Naruto would just smile and wave whenever he sees Hinata, not even saying a single word. Hinata becomes sad and lonely, wondering if it was best that she did not confess her love to him, so that she would not be so sad and lonely right now.

Naruto on the other hand was eating at Ichiraku Ramen Shop, eating ramen, of course. He loves ramen! But not like the usual days, he isn't that hyperactive knucklehead eating ramen. These days, he's quiet and serious, looking as though he's thinking of something. But yes, he is thinking of something. For the first time, Uzumaki Naruto is thinking about love. It seems to be problematic. He's thinking of the Hyuga's confession during his fight with Pein. "Was she really serious? What will I say the next time I see her?" is the ony thing in his mind. Full of questions that needed to be answered, you can't see him being energetic these days, so people around him started to wonder why.

Of course those people include Teuchi and Ayame at the Ichiraku Ramen Shop. Teuchi would ask Naruto everytime why he was being so quiet, would ask if he is okay, but Naruto would just answer that he's fine. So others worried about him, of course some of those people would include the rookie nine, Sai, and their sensei's. They would ask, "What's the matter?" but he would just answer, "I'm fine."

Until one day, he finally knew what he is going to say to Hinata. He finally knew why he can't find the right words. He is in love with Hinata. How? He sees and hears her dazzling smile and kind voice while she waves everytime she sees him and tells him "hi." And for some reason, his heart beats faster when he's around her. He wondered why he didn't fall in love with her before. He wondered why he didn't notice her like that before.

A few weeks later....

He decides to confess. He goes out of his house and the first thing he did when he saw Hinata is to call her name. "Hinata!" he shouted. Hinata was surprised. It was the first time she hear him call out her name since that confession. "Naruto-kun?" is the only thing she said before Naruto hugged her. She was surprised, not knowing what to do. "Hinata!" Naruto looked at her seriously. "Hinata, I love you." is what Naruto said. "W-what?" wondered Hinata. "Really? Is that true?" she asked. And she thought, "Is this a dream? Am I dreaming?" "Yes. What I said is true. Hyuga Hinata, I love you." "I love you too, Naruto-kun!!" is what she said. "I know." Naruto said smiling. And that is the first smile he made ever since that confession.

And Naruto became hyper and energetic again then they started going out!
