Akiko Yamazaki ran across the rooftops of downtown Tokyo, her feet barley touching the floor, her body blending in to the night. She was wearing a completely black outfit.A tight-fitting shirt and pants that had hard plating over the vulnerable parts of her body and soft plating over the rest. The hard plating was like Kevlar, able to stop bullets. Whereas the soft plating could reduce the force of blows and stop a knife from penetrating her vital organs. Her boots were light and and also made from the soft plating, with pockets to keep her knives, hand gun, smoke pellets and vials of poison. She had a katana strapped to her back; her face was covered with a black domino mask, capable of concealing her identity and also able to protect her eyes from injury. Her hair was shoulder length, but pulled back in a tight ponytail; her pale skin was covered in black body paint. She looked like a shadow and that is what she was trained to be.
" You have five minutes to get to the air vent on top of the gala," a male voice said in her ear."Otherwise the fans will start up again, making it impossible to get inside"
" I got this Victor" Akiko hissed into her earpiece. She stopped and looked around. There was an apartment building in front of her, it would take too long to scale it.
" Victor, there's a building in my way it will take too long to scale it. What should I do," She asked checking the time. She had four minutes and thirty seconds.
" If these blueprints are correct, the window in front of you will lead to the west wall of the convention centre," Victor said. " You'll be passing right through someone's home. Be careful"
"I will," She said, blushing." Thanks"
"Your welcome," Victor stammered, embarrassed.
Akiko took a couple steps back, then she began to run.She jumped to the window, landing softly on the ledge. She crouched and pulled out one of her hair clips; bending it between her fingers, she picked the lock. She pushed against the window and it swung open, revealing a large living room with a black leather couch and a furry white rug. She slipped into the room, thankful for her slender frame. She padded lightly over the laminated wood floors, wincing at the small creaks that were emitted whenever she put her foot down.
"I'm in the living room," She whispered."Where do I go?"
"Go straight down the hallway, the first door on your right is a bathroom" Victor said, his fingers typing rapidly  on a keyboard." The window is connected to a fire escape, that's how you can get out"
Akiko crept forward keeping her movements small and keeping her arms close to her body. The floors changed to tile in the hallway leading to the bathroom;perfect at reducing noise, but terribly slippery. She reached the door of the bathroom and gripped the handle carefully; slowly twisting she opened the door, stepping inside she turned and closed the door with the same amount of care. She looked at the time two minutes and five seconds. She picked the lock with the same efficiency as before and it opened without a problem. She stepped out onto the fire escape, carefully closing the window behind herself. She peered into the alley below. A man and women were below her making out, oblivious to the fact she was there. She couldn't risk witnesses. She pulled out two tranquilizer darts, placed them inside a blow tube and blew into it. She hit the man in the neck and the women in the shoulder, they both collapsed immediately asleep. She hopped down and landed beside them. She hoisted them up and dropped them in the nearby dumpster; barley breaking a sweat. She scaled the side of the building in a less then ten seconds, breaking her own previous record of thirty seconds. She ran across the roof to the air vent, she looked at the time again thirty seconds. She unsheathed a knife and quickly went to work removing the four screws, tossing the cover aside, she slipped into the vent feet first. She shimmed down until she reached the vent opening above the stage. She unscrewed the cover, caught it and pulled it inside. She needed the element of surprise for this assassination to make the impact that The Company wanted. She pulled herself out and crept along the wooden beams crisscrossing the stage's roof. She watched as the guests milled around greeting each other and eating snacks that were offered by the servers in the crowd. A hush fell over the crowd as Mr. Leo Therp a wealthy businessman from Britain walked up into the stage.
"Hello my name is Leo Therp and I'm here to today to unveil my company's greatest invention," He exclaimed. "This machine is able to take polluted air and purify it giving out clean air, do you know what this means ladies and gentlemen? This means that global warming is a thing of the past. This is the FUTURE!" He turned and pointed at the screen and a picture of a robotic looking blimp appeared. That was her que. She took two smoke pellets and throw them on the stage. People panicked and ran causing a delayed security response. She dropped from the beams, rolled, unsheathed her katana and stabbed him through the heart.
" We warned you, what would happen if you went through with this," She exclaimed. "Now you've payed the price"
She removed her katana and wiped it off on his body. She heard a shout and she turned. A security guard had broken through and had drew his gun.
" Surrender!" He yelled, waving his gun.
"How 'bout no" She said, holding her katana straight. He fired and the world slowed for her. She moved so fast that she became a blur. The bullet lied on the stage cut perfectly in two. She pulled her gun out and fired hitting him directly in the forehead.
"Your turn" She said smiling. She opened the trap door on the stage and hopped in. She ran to the end of the hallway, up the stairs into a maintenance hall and through a door marked employees only. She was free and her ride was waiting for her. She slid into the front seat and turned to the driver. He started the engine and pulled out of the delivery area.
" Hey, Victor" She purred slyly. " I got my first kill"
" Great Job" He said smiling. " I knew you could do it, your just perfect".
"Sorry" He exclaimed his cheeks turning red.
"Don't be" she said as she leaned over and kissed him.
