Light of the Dark

chapter 3

I woke up noticing I was all covered in dirt. I was right in the middle of nowhere. Deep in the woods. Alone. I guess this is where all the madness starts.

I recall hearing irrational phrases in my head which was primarily the cause of my blackout.

I took time to look around,the whole surroundings were strangely quiet as if there were no other life forms but myself.But I believed we are never alone...I was right.

"what's that up ahead?"

I saw this anthropomorphic figure in the middle of the horizon.And i knew it was no other than him.

I have to fight for my life,for my sanity and for my future. I wouldn't let some deranged animal get in my way.I wouldn't allow him to shred me into pieces. But I don't know why my curiosity made me approach him.

He just stood there and as i got closer I could see he was just...blank and expressionless.

I was only about 3 steps away from him when I stopped walking.At first he was till blank and stiff in posture. But then his mouth started to stretch from side to side,he had this beastly smile,he watched me as if he was ready to devour me alive. I took a step backwards presuming he would assault. I though wrong,he just stood there and he seemed to blend in with the darkness.

I swallowed my fears and bravely initiated a conversation.

"wha-what do you want from me?" I said those words trembling.

"I already have what i desire in front of me" he replied with an eerie chuckle.

"what?"

"It's you that I want...No escaping now,or else"

"Or else what?!"

After that he bursted out in laughter,holding his head and looking maliciously at me.His laugh was clearly empty,his eyes gave out obvious hints of darkness,anger and ruination.He surely was a malevolent being.

I backed away as I was becoming leery of what he could possibly do.

"silly girl" he whispered 

My eyebrows furrowed and I slowly began to walk away until I finally broke into a run. His mad laughter became faint as I ran but his presence was still as strong as if he was just right behind me.I reached a point in the woods where it was quite fogged. And out of nowhere,he appeared,still with that horrible grin. I ran to the opposite direction but he quickly grabbed my left arm,his grip was tight and his nails were piercing right through my skin making my arm bleed.

I don't know but I became very intoxicated and everything went vague until I finally went unconscious for the second time.

After what seemed to be a day,I opened my eyes and I was placed in a bed,I was in a dusty red room. How did I even get here?.I got up and traveled the building. It seemed to be uninhabited or abandoned.It was large and old,every step could possible break the old wooden floor. I saw  enormous portraits which were all covered in blankets of dirt. What could those portraits reveal?
