Hello, helloAnybody out there?
Cause I don't hear a sound
The King of the Court.
A selfish, undiplomatic king.
His voice was laced with venom, and his words were like poisonous shards--attacking anyone who didn't bend to his will.
Soon people stood up for themselves; they stopped flinching at his spew of words, ignored his commands, and didn't even consider him as part of the team.
And in the end, they all gave up on him.
Sweat dripped from his brow, is eyes fixated on the sphere falling directly into his raised hands. He caught the ball, and tossed it behind him. Yet, to his horror, he could hear the deafening sound of the ball slamming onto the lacquered wood.
"That damn Kindaichi." He said under his breath, and spun his heel, ready to scold the turnip haired boy.
But just as he was about to open his mouth, his navy eyes widened.
There he stood, isolated from the rest of his teammates. Nobody said a word, but the hatred in there eyes was enough for the raven-locked male to get the idea.
He was no longer welcomed into the team.
The reign of the king was over.
Alone, alone
I don't really know where the world is
but I miss it now
If he could redo his past mistakes, he would do it in a heartbeat. He hated not being apart of the team, he hated being benched. All he wanted was to soar, he wanted to be free.
And he missed it.
He missed his younger self, the one who didn't reign as king, the one who knew what a team was.
The onyx-locked male wanted to scream out, he wanted to plead for forgiveness, yet those words were so foreign to him. He was in a constant battle with himself, and his stubborn, vile tempered self was winning.
His true nature was in a cage, bound and locked up, and he had long-lost the key.
I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name
Like a fool at the top of my lungs
Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright
But it's never enough
"King of the Court."
"I played against him in Junior High, that guy is a douche."
"Did you hear how the king drove his teammates over the edge?""What a scum."
He kept his head lowered, his knuckles turning white from how tight he was holding his gym bag. He wanted to scream at them, he wanted to tell them he changed.
King of the Court.
King of the Court.
"My name..."
King of the Court.
King of the Court.
"isn't.."
King of the Court.
"King of the Court!" He shouted, turning his head at the people behind him.
They looked at the volleyball player, their eyes widened in shock. They glanced at each other, and chuckled.
"You still have the temper of the king." One teased.
"Because he will always be the selfish, unwanted king!" The other snickered.
His eyes shot open, not wanting to plunge deeper into that recent memory."Tobio-chan, you're finally awake!" An effervescent voice exclaimed, bringing him back to reality.
The raven-locked boy brought his focus on the middle blocker, "Yeah.." He mumbled, and looked out the window.
Listen, listen
I would take a whisper if that's all you had to give
"Tobio," A softer voice called out for him in a whisper.
He grunted in response, his bluish-grey orbs still focused on the passing cars.
The voice let out a sigh, "Don't let it get to you."
His eyes widened, and he turned to the female beside him.
"W-what?" He stuttered out.
"Don't let the name calling get to you." She elucidated, "You are only, Tobio Kageyama."
"I--"
"You aren't a selfish, unwanted king, and you know that." She reached out for his jet-black hair, softly stroking it. "So, don't let their words get to you."
But it isn't, is it?
You come and save me and chase the crazy right out of my head
"But, that is how everyone portrays me as."
"And when did you care about what people thought of you?" She shot back, "Get those thoughts out of your head, you are more than just a title."
He stared at the [h/c] haired female in awe. "[Name]---"
She pulled him into a hug, and placed her incarnadine lips on his cheek. "The only title that you have is my boyfriend." She cooed.
Bonus
"Hey! Get a room!" A near bald man shouted from across the bus.
"That was so beautiful, [Name]-chan!" An orange-haired male gushed, dabbing his eyes with a Kleenex.
"He'll always be 'King of the Court' to me."
[Name] turned to look at the person with glasses, "Shut it, nobody likes your attitude!" She snapped.
"I like your attitude, Tsukki!"
"Not right now, Yamaguchi." The ego-damaged male scolded, weeping on the inside.
