Calum stamped out his cigarette with a sigh, wiping his tear streaked cheeks as he walked back into the hospital. He imminently sat down and started tapping his finger on the chair, waiting for Luke to show up.

After he started to doze off to the Hallmark channel after what seemed like hours, he was awakened by a middle aged nurse, shaking his shoulder. He squinted his eyes as she looked down on him, and started speaking to him, but until she said his name he understood.

Calum shot up in his chair and started blurting out questions, but as soon as she sad room 308 he understood. He felt the tears building up as he ran past the lady and up the stairs, his heart pounding and he skipped the rooms, 304, 305, 306, until he saw Luke sitting outside the door in a ball with his shoulders shaking and his frustrations clearly visable.  Calum ran to him and his lip started to tremble, but Luke only pointed to the door with a trembling finger.

Calum couldn't even hear Luke's screams any longer as he threw open the door to see what seemed like millions of  doctors surrounded by his one and only, his everything, his love. He pushed past the doctors and ignored their protests as he held Michael's cheek as he  looked into the lifeless face of his boyfriend and heard the machine start to get slower and slower. He was forcefully pushed back and he gripped his hair as he was thrown out of the room. He felt the tears drip down his neck as he slid against the wall and blacked out.
