"Jesus Em she's dying. The last thing she wants is to see you, now go." Mom pushes my stiff body towards the door with force. We all knew grandma was at her last breaths but I still couldn't understand why she left everything to me and wanted me to be there when her heartbeat dropped.
I knew my mother would be pissed if I refused so I walked into the room and sat down next to her sick bed. "Hey grandma." I mumbled fiddling with my sweater. I was always awkward around the sick or even already dead. A lot of people didn't like me because of it.
"Good morning Darling. Don't feel anxious I'm not going anywhere. You know why I wanted you?" I felt a bit more comfortable and looked up at her. She was breathing easily and her striking blue eyes peirced mine. "You're special hun, we are special." The crazy women grabbed ahold of my fiddling hand. "Soon, soon, soon you will discover us now for the important stuff. Greg has all my savings at his house, saved 'em for you. Everything in that box you will need follow the instructions. Alright now here. Take it. I love you my little malefica." Her hand clenched around mine and she died.
As I lifted her limp hand from mine I felt her let go of a chain.
It was beautiful, I slung it over my head and smiled. This was one of grandma's charished peices. I close her fragile eyes and walk from the room.
Mom was crying silently in the corner while Greg, my uncle soothingly rubbed her back. "Hey uncle Greg?" He looked up a tight smile plastared on his face. "Grandma said she left a box in your home." I say sitting down next to mom.
"Yes hun, Amanda would it be okay if you take Emily to my house and I uh help with uhh..."
"Yes thank you."
Everything after that moved quickly. Mom didn't talk much after we got the box and the money. Well it was 1.5 million but I knew nothing of it. Mom put it in my bank account and we went home. I held onto the necklace tightly.
