I stepped out into a path between what looked like a forest. But not like any forests I've seen.  Everything was brightly coloured. I mean everything. the trees were purple and the leaves red.  There was lots of flowers. There were lots of people. Well I say people but they were so strange and different, and mainly animals. There was a rabbit in a waistcoat, a dodo bird and a guy with bright red hair wearing a hat.

The man in the hat came up to me smiling excitedly

"oh, you're finally here Alice!" he exclaimed hugging me. He let go and I quickly stepped back

"Alice?" I asked

The man in the hat shared a look with the rabbit in waistcoat.

"you are Alice, aren't you?" The rabbit asked me. A talking rabbit was definitely the weirdest thing I have ever dreamt. I didn't know I had this much of an imagination.

"My names Shaniah..." I said hesitantly. There was a moment of silence and then they all started shouting at once, as if the characters of my own dream didn't expect me to be in it.

"You were meant to bring Alice!"

"What are we going to do now!"

"You had one job!" There were only few things I could actually make out.

"What's going on!?" I yelled making everyone stop and turn to stare at me. "I'm shaniah, not this Alice, but I don't see what that's got to do with anything. This is my dream, why would you be expecting someone else?"

They all stared at me  ignored me and then continued arguing among themselves. I sighed.

"Well it's not like we can take her back! You know the rules! She'll just have to stay here, and we all know it"  The man in the hat said cutting over everyone else." He sighed then suddenly turned to me

"I'm sorry where are my manners, I'm the hatter" he said in a much friendlier tone.

"The mad hatter!" The rabbit added. I expected the hatter to deny this, but he just smiled broadly at me.

"yes, yes, well I guess we need to show you to the village" The mad hatter said as he walked up to me, grabbed my hand and practically led me down a path. I had to walk quickly to keep up to his pace, not worried by this strange man, you couldn't get hurt in dreams.
