Mackenzie strolled up the staircase to the bedroom she shared with her sister, Chloe, Brooke, Paige, and Kalani. The room was pretty large, and painted a creamy white. Six queen size beds stood sporadically throughout the room. She plopped herself onto the bed.
Maddie sat with a candle, squinting. After a few seconds, the wick of the candle lit. Maddie blew it out and repeated the process over and over. Chloe sat on her own bed, tossing a rubix cube up and down. After a few tosses, she held up her hand and the cube stayed afloat in he air. She balled her hand up into a fist and the cube dropped onto the clean bedsheets.
Kalani came in from the shower she wearing silk pajamas. She brushed her wet hair and sat down to her bed, looking at her finger nails. The only girl missing from the room was Paige.
Paige came in with a cardboard box and a putrid smell coming from it.
Kalani sniffed the air "What the hell is that?!" She said, wrinkling her nose in disgust. Chloe stood up from her bed and peered inside the box. Her face twisted in horror.
"Paige!" She screamed.
"What's in there?" Asked Mackenzie.
Chloe shuddered. "Stuff."
"What kind of stuff?"
"Dead stuff."
"Ewwwwwww!" Yelled Mackenzie.
"So what?" Asked Paige. "You guys practice your stuff, I practice mine. I can't help that there's an unbelievable amount of rat corpses outside! Seriously, they need to get that fixed."
With that, Paige stuffed her box of deceased rats into the closet. The clock in the main foyer chimed eleven times.
"That's lights out." Maddie said. They other girls turned of their lights and fell fast asleep.
The next morning, the burdock girls sat in their dining hall. It was mostly quiet until the heard the heavy white doors of the house open. They all peaked out to see a young girl with a slick platinum blonde ponytail. She walked with confidence, her hip swaying and her ever present stare fixed upon Cordelia who sat in a blue armchair.
"I'm Cordelia Goode. You must be Jojo!"Cordelia said warmly.
"That's right." Jojo said. Her tone wasn't cold, not rude. She spoke with confidence, but she seemed on edge. Well, who wouldn't be after being sent to witch school...
Cordelia guided Jojo to the burdock dining hall and sat her down. The girls returned to silence.
Through out that day, the girls could here audible noises coming from the rest of the house. Screams, gasps, explosions. Kalani was annoyed. Not only with the fact that there were horror movie sounds every four seconds (which gave Kalani a migraine) but there was yet another young gal who beleived she was so powerful. Jojo came across like the kind of person to pretend to be nice to you, betray you, then pretend like she was the victim of the whole situation. Kalani had spent enough time with girls like that.
She marched out of the dining hall and into Cordelia's greenhouse. There stood Cordelia, pouring multicolored liquids into a vile before wrapping her hands around it and making it go from a vibrant blue to a light lilac color. She placed the vile on the table and dusted off her hands. Before Kalani could inhale to speak, Cordelia turned around.
"Is there a problem?" She asked. Kalani couldn't tell if it was sarcastic or not...
"Yeah, there's been a lot of screaming lately, and its really giving me a migraine. Is there any indication into when it would stop?" Kalani replied, blatantly annoyed, arms crossed.
"Oh, that must be the older girls. Calendula girls have quite a knack for explosions. Yarrow girls just enjoy screaming. Don't worry, I've heard them too. Surprisingly, the Elder girls haven't made a peep. " Cordelia explained. All these words confused Kalani. Cordelia noticed.
"Burdock is the youngest class. Then Calendula. Then Yarrow. Then Elder. Your groups are based on the time and date you arrived. You girls were put on the list for the Burdock class. We'll only be taking new Elder girls next fall. " She continued. Kalani looked uninterested. Until she saw the dead body on the table and screeched.
"Oh, relax" Cordelia hushed. "I didn't kill her. I have tried on multiple occasions bringing her back. It won't work. Maybe she has just died too many times"
"Wha-times?!" Kalani yelled. Cordelia nodded.
"She looks like Chloe...exactly like Chloe..." Kalani whispered. "That's impossible! Chloe's sitting upstairs right now twirling some bacon or something in the air!"
"This isn't Chloe." Cordelia said grimly. "This is Madison. Madison Montgomery."
-Paige and Chloe were called down to the greenhouse. Paige grimaced at the young girl on the table, who had large blood stains all over her light blue sweater. Chloe stared.
She looks identical to me. She thought.
"Chloe?" Asked Cordelia, interrupting Chloe's thoughts,
"Yeah?" Chloe replied
"What's your last name?"
"Lukasiak."
"Mother's maiden name?"
"Montgomery." Chloe replied quietly.
"And did your mother have any siblings?" Asked Cordelia.
"A brother. Charlie the third."
"My mom told me I had a cousin in show business. We had never met. I didn't know it was Madison. " Chloe said. "But she's dead now, isn't she?"
Cordelia nodded. "Sadly yes. But Paige can bring her back. "
"What? No I can't! I can bring back animals and bugs and stuff but not a human! I've never done that!" Paige protested.
"I believe in you, Paige." Cordelia said.
Paige gave a pleading look to Cordelia. But Paige gave in to her reassuring look and words. She made her way over to Madison's body and leaned over it. She whispered the spell that would hopefully bring her back.
Vitalum Vitalis
Paige stepped back quickly as Madison sat straight up. She turned to Cordelia.
"Ugh." She groaned. "Again?"
Cordelia replied "Be more careful around buses, Madison."
Madison rolled her eyes. She turned around to face Paige and Chloe.
"Ok," she began, pointing to Chloe. "Why do you look like me?"
Chloe shrugged. "Hey, cousin."
"What?"
"I'm your cousin. Christi's daughter?"
"Oh. Dad said there would be another witch in the family. I guess I found one" Madison said. Chloe smiled sheepishly.
"And you." She said, pointing to Paige. "Look exactly like Misty. "
"Who?" Paige asked.
"Misty Day. Don't know her? Oh that's right! She's dead." Madison replied, glaring at Cordelia.
Another groan from Madison.
"I need a cigarette." She muttered.
