His Badass Mate

Chapter 2: Meeting Him

Running in my wolf form felt so good at a time like this. Feeling the wind through my fur was so calming.

I finally stopped when I came upon a lake. I didn't care what I was doing, I just let myself go. Still in my wolf form, I untied my dress from around my leg and drop my heels on top of them, and jumped in the lake.

My wolf, Sabrina, loves the water, so this is heaven for her.

All of a sudden I hear a thundering growl from behind me. I turn towards the growl very slowly. There on the edge of the water, stands a man hotter than the surface of the sun with dark brown hair and blue eyes that I couldn't stop looking at.

He was clearly an Alpha with his powerful aura, but I didn't see him at the Alpha meeting so I don't know who he is.

"Shift." He bellows in his Alpha tone.
I immediately shift into my human form. I stand waist deep, naked, in the lake with tears still on my face. Standing here with my hair dripping wet, I start to get a little self conscious, so I cross my arms over my chest hoping to cover up my chest.

"What are you doing in my territory ?" He asks harshly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was in your territory. Don't worry I was just leaving." I say quickly, starting to walk to where I dropped my clothes.

"Asking why you're on my territory doesn't mean I want you to leave." He says as I reach to where he is on the beach.

I quickly turn to look at him, not just because of what he said, but also because there was an amazing woodsy smell coming from him.

When I look him in the eyes, I immediately feel the mate pull, and I know that we're mates.

"MATE!" He bellows out in his Alpha tone.

He takes a couple steps towards me, and rest a gentle hand on my cheek.

"Who made you cry, love." He asks gently, wiping the leftover tears away.

"My ex, who is also my Alpha." I say quietly.

"Which Alpha?"

"Alpha Ryan Fox, Alpha of Dark Moon." I say looking in his eyes again.

I can tell he's trying to hold a comment back by the way he's clenching and unclenching his jaw.

"What's your name, love?" He asks.

"Lucy, Lucy Hayes." I say with a small smile.

"Well Lucy, I'm Alpha Grayson Reid." He says, putting a short chaste kiss on my forehead.

"Ryan told me about you, he said you're an asshole." I tell him.

"Well to everyone, but you." Grayson smiles.

"I feel honored." I laughed.

"You have a beautiful laugh, angel."

"Thank you." I respond with a small smile.

After putting my dress on, so I wasn't standing naked, Grayson decided to carry me back to his pack house.

Once we got back to the pack house, he carried me to his room and sat me on his bed while he went to get some clothes for me to change into.

As I sat on the bed, I couldn't help but to look around the room. The walls were a beautiful, dark royal blue, while all the doors and wooden furniture were mahogany. His bed has black sheets and a black comforter, while the pillows were blue just like the walls.

After a couple minutes, Grayson walked back into the room from his closet with black t-shirt in his hands.

"Here you go angel. The bathroom is right through that door, and there is an extra brush and toothbrush on the counter. You can also take a shower if you want to." He tells me, handing me the shirt and pointing to an open door off to the side of the room.
