"Okay class, today we are learning about life" Mr Gould says as he turns on the electric whiteboard.
"We are learning about how to make money, get a job and start a family" he continues
"This is going to be the best class ever" Olivia says in her sarcastic way to her best friend, Elliot, who happens to be in every class that she is in.
"Yeah" he says In agreement.
"Well I'm glad you pair agree, because for your first assignment you are pairing up as a couple. And you will all start with the same amount of money. Each class, each couple will have a new problem or issue facing their family and you will have to deal with it in the most appropriate manner" he explains "and been as you too are so excited about my class, you are out first couple!"
"Erm no. We Erm. We are just friends" Olivia says
"I wasn't asking. I was telling. Do you want to fail this class miss benson?"
"Well, no but-"
"It's settled then. Class, this is Mr and Mrs Stabler"
Olivia sighs in frustration, but she is actually excited. She has had a huge crush on Elliot since they were on the play ground together at recess, in the 4th grade.
Elliot smirks at Olivia's stubbornness. He finds it so cute. Because for all she knows, he has only sibling like feelings towards her, been as they have been friends for so long. But in reality he feels exactly the same way as she does. When the day comes to an end Elliot surprises Olivia at her locker.
"What do you want?" She asks with a mischievous smirk
"You" he has under his breath
Her eyes widen in shock.
"No I mean, like I need to speak to you" he covers for himself
"Okay...."
"About this whole, Erm, us being married and everything.."
"Yeah I get it. It's just for a class. Don't worry. I understand. I mean, I know that you don't like me like that" she says with disappointment showing so clearly in her tone of speaking, before turning around and walking away.
"Damn it!" He says as he punches the locker.
"Hey man what's up!?" Brian asks as he walks up to Elliot.
"N..nothing" he stutters.
"What was that about?"
"Nothing"
"Okay, fine. Don't tell me!"Olivia and Kathy go to her house after school. They sit on Kathy's bed and talk for a while.
"Kathy, I really like him. But I can't tell him because I know that he doesn't like me like that" Olivia says
Kathy completely ignores what her "best friend" is saying and continues to text on her phone.
"Kathy!"
"W..what?"
"I was telling you how I felt and you just ignored me!"
"What!"
"You know what, it doesn't matter. I'm going home" Olivia says as she gets her bag and walks out of her house.
Olivia walks 10 blocks home, to her apartment and her drunken mother.
"Why are you late?" Serena asks
"I was at Kathy's house, studying" she lies
"Yeah whatever"
Serena is so drunk that she can't even tell that Olivia was lying through her teeth, but even if she could tell, she wouldn't care.
"Hey the school called, you are going to be learning about the birds and the bees in science" she says
"Erm, mom I learned about that in 6th grade. I'm in 10th now" Olivia replies
"Yeah you learned about how they are made, but your gonna learn about how to put the, you know, the thingy, on the thing. So you don't get knocked up while you're doing it!" Serena laughs
"Oh great" Olivia says sarcastically as she walks to her bedroom.
She starts to do her homework when a message pops up on her phone.Hi Liv, I just wanted to say, that I hope you don't feel uncomfortable about the whole "me and you being married" thing. I was wondering if you could come for dinner tonight?
El xHi El, Erm, no it's not awkward or uncomfortable. And I don't know, where?
Liv xAt my house. If that's okay?
xxI will have to ask my mom, but okay. What time?
xxAs soon as you can come round
xxOlivia walks into the living room and sees her mother passed out on the couch.
I'll leave her a note
Olivia thinks to herself.
