"One for my mother,
Two for my father,
Three my brother," I whisper as I drug the cool, hard piece of steel across my cold, pale skin.
"Four for my sisters,
Five for my addiction,
Six for what life I have left..." A lone tear slides down my cheek and falls on the cut, it's stings from the salty teardrop. Then, my head snaps up as I hear the front door to my apartment open along with a bag thrown to the ground.
"Annette! I'm back!" Callie shouted from behind the door. She slightly knock on my bedroom door, "Annette? Are you in there?"
Shit! I wipe the tears from my eyes and grab a ton of tissues and hold them over my bleeding arm. "Uh... Y-yeah I'm in here.. Um be out in a few." I stuttered trying to hold in a sob.
"Oh ok I'll be in the kitchen I have to talk to you..." Callie says with sadness in her voice. I jumped off my bed and grabbed the first aid kit from under my bed and bandaged up my arms. I throw on my zip up Black Veil Brides sweat shirt and threw my brown hair up I'm a messy bun. Quickly, I walk out of my room and into the kitchen holding the ends of my sleeves tightly in my hands.
I guess I should explain to you who I am... Even though you probably won't care like everyone else. Well, my name is Annette Michaels. I'm 24 years old and live in Fort Worth, Texas. I have brown hair and bright blue eyes. I'm about 5'5", so pretty short. My skin is almost a sickly pale color. I have a tattoo of a compass on my right shoulder the says "We run out of time sooner or later." Also, I share an apartment with my friend, Callie Vincent. I love the colors white, black, and pale blue. And if you are wondering about my past.... Don't expect to hear about. Now back
with what was happening.
I walk in to the kitchen and spot Callie sitting at our small table typing away on her phone. I stand in the doorway for a few minutes just study my friend. Her long blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders in bouncy curls over her Drop Dead shirt. The light in the room catching the metal the pokes out of her collarbone (dermals).
She finally realized I was standing there and looked up from her phone. "Look who finally came out of their hole!" Callie said with a smirk.
"Ha-ha-ha very funny bitch." I said jokingly, "so what did you have to talk about?" I questioned.
"Oh I leaving tomorrow." Callie said bluntly. I stand more straighter and give her a confused look.
"Like as in a vacation?" I questioned.
"No, as in I'm moving. I already signed the apartment over to you." This purely shocked me. We have always lived with each other since her and her mother needed a place to stay when we were 6. We were each others rocks.
"Wait.... What? Where?!" I spoke.
"England. I got a modeling job there and I can be closer to me family." Oh did I mention she was British? Well now you know.
"And I can finally get away from your suicidal ass." She said under her breath so I couldn't hear it, but unfortunately I did.
"What did you just call me?"
"You heard me!" Callie shouted. "Come on! I know all you do in you room is slice up your fucking arms like the suicidal emo brat you are! I'm just surprised you haven't popped a vein yet!" She shouted standing up from her seat. I just stood there shocked. I never thought I would hear that from what I thought was my best friend.
I close my eyes and speak softly, but loud enough for her to hear, "It's people like you who kill me on the inside." And with I turn around and go to walk out of the kitchen. Once I'm around the corner I grab a bottle Jack Daniels, slip on my white UGGs and walk out the door.
