Spirit continued to ask himself as he walked back home. Spirit figured that he probably should ,so he walked up to steins door and ever so slowly knocked. "Stein are you in there? Open up its me Spirit!". there was no reply just the shuffling of papers, so spirit opened the door to see what was happening. When he opened the door he slowly looked aroud and stoped as soon as he saw what stein was looking at. There on the lab table lay a little boy and stein sitting there muttering to himself about how he wouldnt be lonely again. "Stein! What is this! Where did you get this child! There is blood every where!". Spirit quickly ran over to the boy only to be blocked by Stein. "Stein let me go!" Spirit shouted. "No. Dont touch him, he is my...creation. His name is Ronny." Stein said as he continued to block spirit from getting to Ronny. "Fine fine , i wont touch him..." Spirit looked at Stein confused. "Why would you do this stein!" Spirit looked up at stein who looked at him tiredly."I just wanted to....not be lonely anymore..." Stein said quietly. Spirit looked up at Stein, "Is this about what happened when we ahere kids?" "Not only that." stein wispered. "Then what else is it!"Spirit said impationtly. Stein looked up and looked Spirit in the eyes. "Its also about....that one day...."Spirit stopped moving and looked down remembering that day. "Oh, that day..." Spirits voice trailled of as they both remeber that day. He ran away because hia parents had him inside labs all day every day having him tested. Stein said he hted them and was never going back, and if he did it would be to kill them. No one accepted stein they thought he was strange and that he was a so called freak of nature, except for Marie, but stein doesnt like girls. He has never made any friends except for me. I feel really bad now about what i said to him back there at the apartment. I am going back to talk to him.". " Sprit, I am sorry i didnt know his life was that bad before. What did you say to him?" She looked at Spirit questoningly. "When they had him test they said that he was lonely and need more friends or he would always be lonely. i yelled at him no wonder why they said you would be lonely because i am leaving forever you big screw head. Then he stared at me like i had just stabed him in the crest then ran into his room slamming and locking the door behind him. I am going to go check on him, and apalogize." Spirit stood up and walked over to the door. "i will be back soon." Spirit said then walked out the door. He walked up to the apartmeant and herd no noises. He walked over to the kitchen and saw a knife and blood on the floor and counters. In a panic he yelled out for stein. "STEIN! WHERE ARE YOU?! WHAT DID YOU DO!" Spirit ran over to Steins room trying to open the door but it was locked, so he turned his arm into a scythe and cut down the door. He slowly walked into Steins room there was no lights on and all the widows where closed. Spirit slowly turned on the lights and froze in shock. What he saw there was blood every where and Stein on the bed drenched in blood, But worst of all there was a huge screw shoved through his head. Spirit stood there for a moment then ran over to Stein hoping he wasnt dead. "STEIN! STEIN! Are you ok!? " There was no responce from stein only the faint twitch of his finger. Spirit quickly ran to the closest mirror and wrote in 42-42-564 and called lord death. "HIYA!" Lord Death said then realized Spirits expression. "Spirit whats wrong?!" Lord Death said quickly. "I...I...Its stein. He.....he. We need an abulance! He is going to die he.....There is bllod every where!" Spirit heres a noise from Steins room and quickly runs over to his room "STEIN ARE YOU OK?!" Spirit yelled as he ran to Steins room leaving lord death at the mirror . "Spirit whats going on!?" Lord Death yelled as Spirit ran to Steins room. Not soon after an ambleance arrived and picked stein up and broight him to bring him to the hospital. A doctor approched Spirit as the loaded Stein into the back of the ableance. "Are you his partner?" the man asked . "Yes i am his parter. will he be ok?. can i ride in there with him?" Spirit talked fast and worried. "I am sorry kid, but we dont think he will make it. I am also sorry to inform you that scince you are not his family you will have to stay behind." the man said then started to walk away. "NO!" Spirit ran up to the man "YOU HAVE TO LET ME RIDE WITH I AM THE ONLY PERSON HE HAS!!!! HE IS MY BEST FRIEND!!! YOU HAVE YO LET ME RIDE WITH HIM!!!" Spirit yelled as some other doctors came up and held him back as Spirit kicked and screamed and thrashed around as the ambleance drove off, leving Spirit and the doctors behind. The doctors released thier grip on Spirit as he took off running after the ambleance, but failed and ran back to the house to call kami ((kami is sopposed to be the name of spirits ex-wife /makas mother))." hello Kami, its Spirit i nees you to drive me to the hospital.". " Spirit whats wrong what happened to you?!" Kami said worried. "Nothing happened to me its Stein they dont think he is going to make it, I would drive there myself but I dont think i should drive being saken up like this." . "ok i will be right over " Kami said then got into her car and was over in less then a minute. "HONK HONK" the car beeped as Spirit ran out and they drove up to the hispital. On their way there Spirit told Kami the whole story as Kami started to tear up when she found out what had happened. When they arrived at the hoapital Spirit jumped out as Kami went and parked. When Kami went inside she found Spirit yelling at the lady at the front counter who wouldnt tell him anything about Steins condition. Kami quickly went over and started to calm Spirit down as they sat out in the waiting room for over 10 hours when the doctor finaly came out. Spirit quickly stood up and aproached the doctor. "how is he will he be ok? Is he going to live? Will i be able to see him soon?!" Spirit quicly said. The doctor looked at Sprit " Uh....he sould be ok. I dont think it would be a good idea for you to go see him. He isnt in a good condition." The doctor lookes down at Spirit. "Please sir i have to what if he dies and I wouldnt have been able to tell him I am sorry.....for what i said....he will hate me forever and not know how sorry i am!" Spirit startes to tear up. "Fine i guess you can go in...." The doctor said opening the door and walking in with spirit behind him. Spirit slowly walked into the room with dim lighting and a slow heart rate monitor going up and down and a dresser on the other side of the bed with a vase of flowers. In the middle of the dresser and heart rate moniter there was a bed with a pale teenaged boy with a screw through his head. Spirit slowly turned and looked at the doctor "You wernt able to....take the screw out?". "No I am afraid not, if we do take it out he would die. Its the only thing keeping him alive right now.". "Oh." Spirit said quietly and walked over to the bed side. "I'm sorry Stein I should have never said any of those things to you. I know that you don't like me ever talking about that and i never should have." Spirit continued to talk apologizing for everything. There was a knock on the door and Spirit turned to see a teacher from the DWMA. " Spirit can we I see you out in the hallway?". "Uh....yea sure." Spirit stood up and walked into the hallway. "Spirit Lord Death wanted me to tell you that you aren't allowed to be partners with Stein any more." The teacher continued to explain to Spirit on why he isn't allowed to be his partner amymore. "okay..." Spirit wispered and went back into the room. »» The next day»» Spirit was sitting out in the hallway when he heard a noise from inside Steins hospital room. Spirit quickly got up and went inside to see stein slowly waking up , so he rushed over to his bed side. "Hey Stein, how are you feeling..." Spirit looked at Stein who was staring at him. "I...I...my head hurts." Stein said quietly. Spirit smiled happy that Stein was awake "Well i can tell why." Spirit handed Stein a mirror. Stein looked in the mirror shocked."My head....I have a screw in my head?! I thought it was just a dream?!" Stein said then he set the mirror down and sighed."I guess it looks kind of cool?" Stein said then looked down. "Yea prettt cool." Spirit said then looked up at Stein. Stein looked up amd noticed some people at the door. "Oh, Sid Naguse Marie BJ and kumi...What are you guys doing here?" Stein said suprised that people where here to see him. "We are here to see if you where ok." Marie said as they all came in to talk to him. About a month later Stein was released from the hospital and they went back on trying to live life normaly again, but Stein was without a partner for the next month until he found someone else. //PRESANT// They both looked down and back up remebering the child was still there. "I am going to have to tell Lord Death about this..." Spirit said quietly. "No...." Stein said sternly , " I will.....he is my responcibility." Stein said to spirit quitly. "Okay" Spirit said. "So his name is Ronny you said?". "Yes, Ronny Stein. I made him." Stein said proudly. The two talkes for a while as Ronny slept on the table next to them. -end of prolog 2-
