24. Han River

Using the umbrella the kind guy gave me, I quickly arrived home not soaking wet. Hopefully somehow I'll meet the man again and I'll be able to give the umbrella back. It seemed pretty expensive too.
The weather had drained all the energy out of me so I crashed on top of my bed.

*KATALK*

"WHO IS KATALKING ME AT THIS VERY MOMENT!"

I lazily rummaged through my purse and found my phone. I always needed to check my texts since it could be an important text from a professor or the entertainment.

"Taehyung what are you doing texting me right now."

KATALK CHAT
TY: Did you get my note?
SaeRi: THAT WAS YOU?! I HATE YOU! I thought I was being stalked!
TY: Mianhaeee
SaeRi: It's okay. Just don't do that next time
TY: Arraseo! So what are you doing right now?
SaeRi: Just resting
TY: Come to the Han River at 7
SaeRi: Are you ordering me around?
TY: Maybe. I do have a bad boy image to keep up you know
SaeRi: Keke Since when were you a bad boy..
TY: ugh since I was born! Duh
SaeRi: of course
TY: so you'll come?
SaeRi: yeah why not. I need some fresh air anyway
TY: SEE YOU THEN
SaeRi: OKAYY
TY: BYEEEE

I closed out of the app and checked the clock. It was 4:43 so I had some time until I had to go to the Han River. The weather app also said it would stop raining by then so I wouldn't have to be worried.

"Ugh screw it! I'm so tired!"

Without even taking off my coat, I fell asleep and took a nap for about an hour and thirty minutes.

About an hour later, I dragged myself out of bed and turned off my alarm with a groan. It was 6:20 so I decided to change into some more comfortable clothes. I put on some sweatpants, a graphic tee that said 'MAKNAE' and got out a grey windbreaker. Lazily I wiped off my makeup from before and put on just a little makeup since it wasn't going to be so bright outside. I slipped on some comfortable sneakers and headed out to meet Taehyung.

I walked towards the park by the river where Taehyung told me to meet him.

"Aish where is this kid?"

I looked around, but he was nowhere to be seen. I walked towards the empty playground and sat on the swing. The sun would set soon and the only people here were mostly adults. A lot of the children were leaving since it would get dark soon. There were couples taking strolls by the waterside, friends just goofing around, and other people hanging around.

It was getting darker and I was getting worried. It wasn't really safe to be out in the dark all alone, no matter how many people are there. The darkness hides many secrets.

Suddenly I noticed a group of guy approaching me. I could tell by their stride that they weren't here to play on the playground. They all had dark clothing on and I bet you the potent odor coming from them was a mix of motor oil and alcohol. From their looks they seemed to be in their 20's.

I tried not to seem afraid and just ignored them. I sat as tall as I can and looked out into the distance.

The one in the middle who was twiddling a toothpick in his mouth walked up to the swing set and leaned against the pole. He leaned in and scoffed.

"What's a pretty looking thing like you doing out here all alone? You should come with us. We'll take care of you."

I turned my head to face him and breathed in to create a dramatic pause. I had to make sure to try and take as long as I want so maybe, just maybe Taehyung would find me.

"...give me one reason why I should follow you."

"Isn't it obvious?" said the man as he smirked at me, "you'll experience things you've never had before if you come with us."

"You don't know what I have or have not experienced. Give me a better reason."

"Do I need to get down on my knee and propose to you to make you come with us?" he said as he chuckled.

"Maybe. Who knows." I tried to put a little bit of a sarcastic tone in my voice and played along with the stranger's antics.

"Haha. I like your style girl. You know what, if you come with us, I could probably get you rock so big you won't be able to lift your hand." said the guy.

I think he was actually thinking that he was winning me over.
"Ugh..where is that boy Taehyung?!?"

"Who said anything about a ring? We only talked about you getting down on your knees."

The guy's posse was starting to get restless, but I could tell from their chuckles and laughs, they were enjoying their leader get sassed by me. The guy shot them a dirty look and they instantly shut up and got into a straight line.

"You got some sass girl. You'll do pretty well.....Fine. I'll get down on my knee."
He put his hands up to show that he had lost this battle and was willing to give up his pride and get down on his knee to make me come with him.

I smirked to show I was pleased on my victory, but truthfully I was sweating like my appa during the summer, and that ain't a pretty sight.
"I swear if Taehyung doesn't come soon, I'm going to be in big trouble.."

"Okay. I'm on my knee. Will you come join us now?" asked the stranger.

"I---"

"Yah! What do you think you're doing?"

Before I could respond, a shout interrupted me and all of our heads turned to face the person yelling towards us.

I exhaled a sigh of relief and I saw who the person was.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head as he walked towards us in a weird stride pretending he was a gangster with swag. "Great timing Kim Taehyung.."
