Chapter 2

Still Emerald POV

Emerald finished braiding her hair and stepped out if the car with her dad a Claire. They started to walk up some stairs of the side of a huge stone enclosure. "The park needs a new attraction every few years in order to reinvigorate the publics interest," Claire told them "kind of like the space program. Corporate felt genetic modification would up the wow factor." Hearing this she ran up closer to Claire.

"You genetically modified a dinosaur," Emerald asked as they entered a room with a huge glass window. "Please tell me its only a herbivore."

"The Indominus Rex will make us relevant again"

"Wait you named it Indominus Rex?"

"Yes Emerald we needed some thing scary and easy to pronounce"

"What is she made of" Emerald asked looking for the dino.

"The base genome is T Rex the rest is classified" Claire answered. Her dad and Claire continued to talk about it while Eme looked for it. Her hear skipped a beat when she saw claw marks up the wall. They were huge and deep, clearly the animal was big and had dangerous claws, she was not one Eme felt safe being around. 

"Where those claw marks always there," she asked. Instantly they stopped talking and turned to where she was pointing.

"She has a implant in her back. I can track it from the control room," Claire ran out yelling.

"They must have mixed it with something that had long arms and big claws because a T-Rex can't do that," She stated. Emerald and her dad with two other men had gone in the cage to look at the claw marks. "Dad you really think it could have climbed out and gotten past the workers, if it has T-Rex in it it would have to be huge.

"It depends"

"On?"

"What kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab"

The security guards walkie talkie transmitted a staticky voice. Once it came back clear the man picked up. "Paddock 11." The voice said "paddock 11, do you copy?"

"Yea what's the problem?" The guard asked.

"It's in the cage! It's in there with you!"

"Go!"

They started to run back but the dinosaur blocked their path. The huge albino dinosaur was terrifying. It was bigger than a T-Rex, had long arms that had spikes on the forearm and was armed with long claws and down it's head and back was spikes. As they ran from her she grabbed the man and ate him. She could see the security guard opening the gates and running through. Emerald swore she could feel the dinosaur breathing down her back. She ran through the gates in time right after her dad. Both of them ran for a truck as a loud crashing sound followed by a roar. She fell and skid to stop her self and get under the truck. As she did that she could feel the entire side of her forearm get skinned. She was to distracted by her terror to feel the pain. Emerald watched as the dinosaur tossed a truck to the side with ease. The truck landed between the Indominus Rex and them. Emeralds dad rolled onto his back and cut a pipe spilling gasoline all over them.

"Dad?"

She was quickly cut off by him putting his hand on her mouth. She heard and felt the foot steps of the dinosaur as it neared. She could see the huge mouth as it sniffed the truck. Its breath was putrid and smelled like death. It seemed like it was sniffing forever but finally it left and Emerald felt like she could finally breath.

Emerald was now going up to the control room in a elevator with her dad. Now that the animal was lose he refused to let her leave his side. She now had her arm wrapped in medical gauze from her elbow to wrist covering her exposed layer of skin. The elevator stopped and the doors opened and they stepped out. "I need to see some badges," the security guard told them. "Sir, I need to see your guys badges," but they continued past the guard.

"What the hell happened out there," Owen asked while yelling.

"Sir," the guard persisted. 

"There are thermal cameras all over the paddock. She did not just disappear!"

"It must have been some kind of technical malfunction," Claire said. 

"Where you not watching? She marked up that wall as a distraction. She wanted us to think she escaped!"

"Hold on. We are talking about a animal here."

"A highly intelligent animal."

One of the men told them how far some people where to a beacon. "your going after with non lethals?" her dad asked them.

"We $26 million invested in that asset. We can't just kill it." a man told them.

"Lives are at stake and your worried about your money? What if they cant kill her and she get lose on the rest of the park? Just looking at her she looks like a killing machine. How can you be thinking about money right now," Emerald asked him. She saw on the screen that a patch of white scales resting in a rock.

"It's her tracking implant she clawed it out," her dad told them.

"How would it know to do that," Claire asked him.

"If she he remembered where they put it in," Emerald said.

"it can camouflage," some one yelled over the coms. Quickly her dad pulled her into him hugging her so she could not see.

"I don't want you to watch this Eme."

She felt her dad squeeze tighter as the screaming of people as they died. It was horrible you can tell from each scream they where truly terrified. She could hear more and more sounds of flat lining. Then it was over, done, no one spoke a word. "Eme go wait outside," her dad told her. Him calling her by her nick name helped her. She walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.
