                                                                          Chapter One

                                                                          Alexis's POV

It all came down to this. Going to our nonexistent father.I don't care if he never knew about Allese and I. Maybe if he didn't skip town so fast, mom could have told him! Maybe he's no better then our "so called" mom! Or maybe, just maybe, what Allese and I need says a little part of me. I shut that part out just like I've been doing for the last ten years, when I gave up believing that mom would come around. I had to for Allese, my sister, my twin, my best friend. She has always been naive, never gave up on mom not even to this day. For this I have to protect her from the evils of the world her innocent mind doesn't understand. Besides she is my little sister, by 4 minutes. Our mom doesn't care one bit for us, you can say were neglected. I couldn't handle the responsibilities me and Allese split anymore, so I know she can't either. We grew up in Delaware and started to work when we were fourteen, Allese at a library me at walmart. Crap right? We only made it to fourteen without working from some money dad left behind for our mom. Yes, my dad was at least thoughtful enough to leave behind alot of money for mom. One thing he actually did right. To bad mom spent it all on alcohol. The really sad part is that me and Allese never attended school before. Yes, people became suspicious of us working full hours, riding back home on our bikes that I stole. No-one pried thinking it was money problems. Which in part is true, but it was also mommy problems. So I decided to look up our dad using the information mom told us when we were little. When she cared a little Now here we are on a plane, tickets bought by our saved up money from work heading to California to face our dad. Mom is at home probably dating a new guy, she won't notice were missing for a few weeks.
