Today is the day! I finally turn 16! This is so exciting. I can't imagine what my day is going to be like! I just can't wait!
I get dressed; I put on my new Coach dress, grab a cute brown handbag, and throw on my favorite black vans. I do two French braids in my hair and put on a touch of makeup. To make myself feel confident, I twirl in front of the mirror, have my mom snap a picture, and put it up on my social medias. I immediately get a bunch of comments and likes. A lot of my fans remembered it was my birthday! They are so cute. As I skip down the hallway, Carmen comes out of her room all grumpy.
"What's wrong little sis?"
"Uhhhhhhhh. Shane was playing drums at like six in the morning! You are soooo lucky you're in the attic!"
"Oh come on Carm! Let's be a little cheery today! It's such a special day."
"Oh yeah I forgot!!!!"
I started beaming, but the next words weren't what I was expecting.
"I have to pass my drivers test today!"
Uh. Sisters. All raveled up in their own stuff. I walk downstairs. At least someone remembered!
"Hey bud!"
I go to hug my dad, but of course he wasn't talking to me. Shane. Evil evil Shane. My day couldn't get any worse. I suddenly regret wearing my favorite dress. Just as I go to sit and eat breakfast the doorbell rings. It's Shannon! She is my neighbor. She's more of Carmen's friend but I like her. We understand each other. Maybe I can telepathy my birthday into her brain.
"Hey Shannon!"
"Hey Row! Is Carmen home?"
I sigh.
"OMG ROWAN ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!! That's so sick! Finally a 16 year old!"
"Finally! Someone remembered!"
Shan was so loud, now my whole family is running towards me all screaming "leave it up to Shannon to make us remember!". I can't believe my family forgot my sweet sixteen! But it's okay, as long as Sab remembers, it will be okay. Besides Sabrina is practically family.
