Flash back
The grass tickled my feet as I ran through the yard with my two best friends, Cole and Dylan. They were identical, but I knew which was which. We were playing tag. A favorite of ours. I wore a red sundress with yellow daisies on it. I had long blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail.
The twins were dressed the same as each other. Their blonde hair tussled on the top of their heads. Dylan was it. Cole and I ran trying to get away from him. Cole came to the big tree and climed it easily.
I put my hand on the big branches above me. I tried to pull my self up but my little arms wouldn't help out.
"Here give me your hand Chelsea!" Cole said holding his callused hand towards me, I grabbed onto it as Dylan came up towards us laughing
"I got you now!" He exclaimed. Cole pulled and I jumped up grabbing onto the branch above me.My right leg dangled as I tried to get my footing. I felt two hands grab my leg and pull me right back down. "Youre it!"
I fell to the ground with a thump, landing right on a rock.
The wind was knocked out of me and I was struggling to breathe.
"Are you okay Chelsea?" Dylan asked.
Cole dropped from the tree and looked down at me. Trying to hide the tears, I reached out and touched Coles leg.
"You're it!!!" I cried happily.
"Aw, dang it." Cole said looking upset. They helped me up and we skipped back to the backyard where our mothers were sitting. My mother was beautiful. She had a smile that could light up the night sky. She had long blonde hair and freckles that looked like sparkles. She was wearing a yellow sundress and smiled at us when we came towards her.
My parents got divorced when I was two. My dad moved somewhere and my mom raised me on her own. I didn't care much about my dad, the most important person was right there.
"Would you three like some lemonade?" My mom asked sweetly. Everyone who has ever met Missy Clements, fell in love immediately. She made the sweetest lemonade. She always told me she made it with love. That's why it tasted so good. The sprouse twins were my bestfriends, and she was the best mom. But it wasn't forever.
Two years later
"Mommy look! It's Cole and Dylan! On tv! Mommy come quick!" I sat googly eyed watching my two best friends play brothers on the Suite life of Zach and Cody.
"Not now Chelsea I'm busy." Mom said from the office.
"But mommy they are so good! They are really funny you should come wat-"
"Chelsea I said not now! What part do you not understand!" My mom screamed. She was doing that a lot. The show was super funny. They were in the Tipton hotel.
After watching the show my mom came out in red stiletto high heels and a very short red dress. Her blonde hair
was curled and she wore a lot of makeup. I looked up at her clutching my teddy bear.
"Chelsea I'm going out. I won't be back till tomorrow sometime. Don't be obnoxious. Bed by 10." She said picking up her purse.
"Where are you going mommy?" I asked looking up at her. She squatted down to my level. "I'm going to make us some money."Those nights happened a lot. I only saw my mom once or twice a week. When she would come home, she would be with a strange man. She always had a cigarette and that beautiful women I knew, wasn't very beautiful. All I wanted was my bestfriends back.
Years after years went by. Their fame increased. I haven't even seen them once. My 15th birthday came. I remember a strange women coming to my house. She wore a black jump suite and had a clipboard. She didn't look very happy. She looked in her late 30s. I opened the door and she looked at me through her half moon skepticals.
"Are you Chelsea Bryant? Daughter of Missy Clements?" She asked in a snotty tone.
"Yes I am, who are you?" She took off her glasses and stepped past me into the house. I closed to door and turned to look at the women. She looked around the messy house than wrote something down on her clipboard.
"You shall refer to me as Miss Page. I am your mothers lawyer." She said turning to me. "This house is a mess."
"Why are you here? Where is my mother?" I asked stepping closer to her.
"Where is your mothers bedroom? I need to examine it." I pointed down the hall. "Good good." Her heels clacked down the way I pointed. I ran ahead of her and stood in front of the door.
"Where is my mother. You aren't going in here until you tell me."
"Get out of my way this is official strict business" she said bending down close to my face. "You aren't getting in until you tell me where my mother is." I said clenching my jaw.
"You want to know where your mother is? Fine. She's in jail and she is never coming back. Now, get." The woman's breath smelled of old coffee. My whole heart stopped when she said that.
She pushed my limp body out of her way and barged into her room. I slid down the wall. What am I going to do? My mother is gone! How will I get food how will I be safe! The woman had the answers. I got up and ran into her room and saw her holding the necklace my mother used to wear all the time.
It was a gift to her from me. It had a picture of us in it.
"Put that down! That is not yours that belongs to my mother!" I yelled pointing at her. She looked at me and dropped in back into the box.
She came over to me and sat on the bed. She patted next to her, gesturing for me to sit.
"What are you doing here." I snapped at her.
"Tell me about your father" She ignored my question. " I don't know. Why are you here." I demanded. "You don't know? Do you know his name?"
"I don't know. Mom never told me. Now what are you doing here."
"God you're annoying." She said standing up. "Your mother isn't coming back for a very very very long time. Therefore, I have to take you to your fathers.End of flashback
