Charlotte's POV
I woke up to my phone buzzing, notifying me with a text from Dylan alongside the fact I had overslept and it was 12:11pm.
'Charl, I need to see you. It's been too long and I miss you.xxx' His message read, giving me butterflies.
I shouldn't be thinking about meeting him - let alone actually saying yes - but my mind was all over the place and I needed someone to get me away from it all, even if it was just seeing him for a few hours.
'Come to mine at 9, see you then x' I responded, hoping that Ruby would be alright with it since I had told her a bit about what had happened between us.
I pulled my hair into a messy bun before climbing out of bed to head downstairs where I heard the voices of Ruby, Amba and Isaac in the kitchen. It was a relief to hear them talking rather than sitting in silence as I had expected them to be.
"Hey - we're just heading out. Got some stuff to sort out." Amba smiled at me. I nodded and saw them out before going back into the kitchen where Ruby was.
I took the mug of tea with a smile from Ruby and followed her into the living room, biting my lip with anxiety as I tried to bring up Dylan without sounding selfish. "You know I was seeing that guy, Dylan, a couple of weeks ago?"
"Yeah?" She replied, breaking her stare at the ground.
"Would you mind if he came over later on? I haven't seen him for ages and I -" I began to try and give excuses to back myself up but she gave me a warm smile.
"Of course not, we need to try and move on anyway." She smiled before putting her mug down and going upstairs.
**8 HOURS LATER**
I heard a knock at the door and jumped up to check my hair was okay in the mirror before answering it and being greeted with his face smiling at me. "Hey," I said slightly timidly, admiring his perfect brown hair and matching eyes that I had always loved.
"I've missed you." He whispered before learning in for a kiss, surprising me a little. I led him into the living room before asking what he wanted to drink and heading into the kitchen where I heard Ruby on the phone to someone.
I pulled two ciders out of the fridge, not getting a chance to say anything to Ruby as she wouldn't make eye contact with me. "Here." I handed one to Dylan as I sat beside him. "So, how come I haven't seen you in so long?" I asked.
"Sorry babe, I've just been real busy lately." He said looking slightly uneasy. "How about we put a movie on or something?" I was kind of confused as to why he didn't want to just sit and talk after not seeing him for so long, but agreed anyway. I pulled Legend off the shelf and put it into the DVD player.
I relaxed to Dylan's position and leaned against him as he winded her arm around my shoulder. "If you love Tom Hardy as much as I do, then I already love you." I joked, turning to him with a grin on my face to see him texting someone and not paying attention. "Who are you texting?" I tried to ask in a relaxed manner as to not come across as too controlling.
"No one," He locked his phone. "I'm just going to the toilet, stay here." He winked at me before leaving the room. After a few seconds I decided to pause the film and get us some snacks in the kitchen, Ruby smiling at me before going up to her room.
I opened the cupboard, hearing what sounded like a noise in the back garden but thought nothing of it, continuing to pull out a large bag of crisps and a bowl to pour them into. I heard another noise, this time I was scared. Footsteps, behind me. I froze.
Before I had a chance to look behind me I felt a crashing coming down onto my skull, and then darkness - nothing. I was dead.
