I walked down the hall.
Feeling defeated... today lesson was >>DIVING<<
and I couldn't do it.
At my short 8 year old life there where 3 things I dislike:

I walked my way to the cafeteria
with my head down, looking at my shoe lace bouncing as I walk...
After a few more minutes of grief I arrived my destiny...
"Someone is being a big grumpy today" said my now partner in crime Joan
She was wearing her hair down, blue shorts and white shirt.
but something caught my attention
"Where is you DS?"
She gives a long sigh "Mom took it away... she says I need to be
more... 'SOCIABLE'" she said the last word while rolling her eyes.
"How about you? why the sad face?"
Now it was my turn to sigh.
"we had diving class today"
"Diving? like Jumping from the tall thing on the pool?"
"It's a Plataform, and yes, that" I answer her
"THAT'S AWESOME" she claim. Now all her attention on me
"No it's not!" I say "it's freaking scary!"
"Wait don't tell me you are a sissy baby that hate heights!"
I stayed quiet.
She sighs again... "You just ruin my plans!"
I looked at her confused
"Your plans?"
"Yes!" She answer exasperated... and takes a paper from her pocket
"I found this on the cafeteria counter... there is a new climbing wall"
I looked at it, it looked quite awesome to be honest.
"Anddddd" she continue "I wanted to go"
"And how do I ruin it?"
I asked still not getting it...
Don't blame me I am only 8!
"DUH! you are coming with me... but I can't handle a crying baby while we go up!"
"I'm not a crying baby!" I snap back
"Then you are coming with me?" she asks smiling
"No! I don't like height... nor climbing?"
I crossed my arms and gave her my back
"Have you ever done it before?climbing a wall?" she asks popping a mint on her mouth
"Noooouu" I say almost ashamed turning my face back to her
"Then stop saying you don't like it" she had a victory smile on her face
I knew that smile, was the same she gave to me before daring me to something.
Or when she got any crazy idea.
"So! I, Joan Carter, dare you David to a climbing race TOMORROW!" she pops another mint on her mouth "And if you say no... you have to give me a box of chocolates, the fancy ones that comes in a gold box!"
In that moment my priorities changed...

2. Vegetable
and 1. Losing a dare to Joan.
"Deal!" I say finally. "I'm not a scary cat!"
I even felt brave enough to steal one of her mints.
"That's the attitude I'm talking about!"
She said finally taking the last mint
