I walked into the office and my therapist's secretary, Mia, looked up. "what's up honey," she asked, raw worry on her face. "Just buzz me back to Winter, please." Something on my face seemed to convince her, and within seconds I was walking back towards Winter's office. Upon approaching the door, I heard rustling and muttered cursing from inside. Knocking, I opened the door to see her hastily shove a ton of books and papers into a desk drawer.
Something doesn't feel right about her, the voice in my head whispered.
Shut up. I smiled at Winter. "New project?" I asked as a plopped down on my favorite chair. She looked up and stuttered out a yes. Picking up her notebook from the desk, she sat down opposite me. "What seems to be the problem?" She asked. If you don't come back to investigate later, I will take over in your sleep and do it myself. "Nothing much. Just, earlier, the voice-" "what did you name it?" Winter asked, cutting me off. "Her. Her name is melody. Anyways, she took control, locking me in my own mind." I rambled on as winter tried to keep up, scribbling notes upon notes in her notebook. Finally I stopped.
Oh, cmon, it couldn't have been that terrible. I mean, u spend all my time up here. Have you decided yet? Because I'm pretty sure she just wrote, "subject 001 is expiriencing difficulty controlling subject 002. May need stronger counseling." What do you think that means?
Shut up! Fine! I'll come back after the office closes! Happy?
She seemed startled at my sudden outburst, and I smiled to myself. Winter cleared her throat, and I looked up. "I'm changing your sessions to twice a week. The other appointment will be with my partner, Autumn. She'll help soothe melody."
I nodded. She helped me up and shoved me out the door. "I'll call you later about your second sessions, okay?" I signed out with Mia and stormed to my car, yelling at melody in my head the whole time...
