The Cluttered Forest of my Mind

His scream echoes through the cluttered forest of my mind

His wild and reckless voice

Is laced with agony

Fear, but excitement

Joy

He's crazy, he's an animal

But he's wild and he's free

He runs with nothing to hold him back

Insanity pulses through him with every heartbeat

He's dark and deranged

He knows that no one would understand

But he doesn't care

He doesn't lend a thought to what anyone else has to say

The only voice he heeds is his own

And rightly so

He runs with nothing to hold him back

He lets himself loose as the insanity pours through his body

Nature is the painter and he is her canvas

He crushes the leaves with his bare feet

Tears of happiness stream down his face

As he lets out another crazed shriek

His chains are broken

He's been set free

His addiction that held him hostage

Was broken in the end

The chains that bound him down

Were weaker than him,

He was strong and he broke them

He ripped them apart with one mighty tow

His screams echo through the cluttered forest of my mind

His heart is broken, but it keeps beating

His heart crumbles but it keeps on beating

Faster and faster inside of his chest

He's about to explode

He runs and he runs, but can he break free?

His soul is screaming

His soul is pounding on the door of it's cage

Pounding hard against his chest

Begging to be released

Everything inside of him needs out of his body

Another scream escapes him

His veins are popping

His vocal chords stretch

He shrieks, he screams

Because he is free
