It was the day I meet my new family.

Then two days after is the wedding.

Oh, joy!

Not.

I guess I just feel so new to this and I still don't like the idea of having another mother. My old mother was the best I had and no one can beat her.

Today, father suggested that we would go ride our horses and then come back for tea.

My regular schedule will be cancelled because of this special event so my studies will be resumed tomorrow.

I took my towel and toiletries to the bathroom and started to get ready. My bird friends helped fix my bed for my while the mice tried to prepare my things.

I chose a pale green lace dress that reached until my knees. It had a curved neckline that wasn't too low. The sleeves covered only a bit of my shoulders. The birds helped tie the bow behind my waist.

Two of the mice, Jack and Gus, gave me my comb and a blue ribbon. I combed my dirty blond hair and braided it with the ribbon. I pondered for a moment if I will wear a sun hat but I decided against it. So one of the birds picked up a white daisy and placed it just above my right ear.

I didn't try to put any make up on my face except for some powder and perfume.

I chose a pair of brown boots and put them on. Then I picked up Snowflake and gave her a bath.

I scrubbed off the dirt and smell off her. I placed a clean collar around her neck and she looked just like the day I got her.

I was about to leave when I just remembered something.

My necklace.

I found the necklace father gave me for my birthday and a simple silver-pink bracelet and place the jewelry on.

I checked myself in the mirror one last time. I saw my cheerful self. My hazel brown eyes from mother. My dirty blonde hair was a mixture of mother's blonde hair and father's brown hair and lastly my white skin from father.

Since I was done looking at myself, I went downstairs and found father already at the table.

"Good morning Ella." He greeted.

"Good morning papa." I greeted back.

We ate breakfast in silence and I took a few pieces of bread for my animal friends.

"Are you ready to meet your new family?" Father asked.

"I'm actually nervous father. What if they don't like me?" I replied.

"Oh, don't worry. They're going to love you." He reassured me.

I nodded my head and went to the stables. I found Jack, Gus and a few other mice waiting in the corner.

"Here you go." I told them as I gave them the slices of bread. "Don't forget to share to the others."

I readied my horse. He was a young elegant white horse. He had blue eyes and a soft mane. I named him 'Majesty' when I first got him because of how beautiful he was. He is one of the finest and fastest horses in the land which father gave me for my birthday.

I placed on his saddle and fixed the reins. I then did the same to father's horse.

Father's horse is a dark brown horse named 'Domino'. Domino has been father's horse since he first meet mother.

I brought the two horses out to the front yard to see a grey carriage brought by three strong horses.

One of the horses was black as midnight while the other two were a shade of light brown. One of the brown horses had white spots near its behind while the other had none.
